we are annual visitors and always stay at POR. we are considering Y&BC this time around but are afraid we will not be happy with the lack of a decent food court and the loss of the wonderful look and feel of POR. anyone stayed at both? or give me a good reason to switch or not switch. money is not now or ever was the issue for staying at a mod. we stayed at SSR two years ago and liked it except for the food court issue.

Have you considered Caribbean Beach? They have a food court and a great atmosphere. My kids prefer itover all the resorts, luxury included.

Since you usually stay at POR, you should give BC a try. You will love it! I have stayed at both (most recently at POR 01/08 and BC 07/07) and love them both for different reasons. DH prefers POR because it is not as big. I love POR because it is beautiful and relaxing. I love BC because it is light and airy and there is just so much to do. There are many places to eat in the BC area. At BC/YC there is Cape May Cafe, Hurricane Hannahs, The Marketplace, Yacht Club Galley (now renamed something) and one more that I can't think of this early. In the area, there is anything you can find in Epcot (since it's only a couple minutes walk) and all the great restaurants at the BW area such as Spoodles, Boardwalk Bakery, ESPN Club, and Flying Fish. You will love SAB and the location is just the best.

Give it a try. You will  it!!!

How about CSR? Great pool area, the buses are terrific and the food court is awesome.

We stayed at POR and YC and if the food court is a big deal for you then stay at the POR, they have great food and many choices.

The food court (if you could call if that) at the BC was pathetic...the breakfast option was basically donuts, pastry, fruit and a very nasty omelet sandwich. For lunch and dinner they had sandwiches. You could walk over to the BW Bakery. Otherwise there is a great breakfast at Cape May. Lunch or dinner at Beaches and Cream, now that is worth staying at the YC!

Truthfully, I love yc/bc..I really didn't miss the food court at all ( so many other dining options out there).I also think the theming is far better.I liked POr and pofq enough, but not enough to pass up on yc/bc.I also hated CBR because of how many bus stops and how spread out everything was.The food court there was nice, but too far to walk after a full day at the parks. Can't comment on CSR ( heard it was nice though):goodvibes

We have stayed many times at POR and love it. Just got back this past Mon. from YC. Although I do miss the food court for a quick breakfast, I don't mind giving that up to stay at the YC. We had a water view room and it was beautiful. I sat out on the balcony every morning with my coffee. I love the whole Epcot resort area. It's and easy walk to Epcot, which is especially nice after Illuminations. It's about a 20 min. walk to MGM or you can take the boats that stop at the resorts and parks. The YC/BC pool is the nicest pool of any of the resorts.
As far as the food court, we would use it mostly for breakfast at POR, sometimes for dinner but I didn't miss it at dinner being at the YC.
There are many nice restaurants there. Nights we didn't have any reservations and wanted something simple we went to the ESPN Club at the Boardwalk. They don't take reservations.
We like to get going in the morning so we would skip breakfast and have an early lunch. And, OK this is probably bad but if I was hungry in the morning I had a Mickey bar before lunch:rolleyes1 .
Since money isn't an issue you can always stay concierge level. The food in the lounge may make up some for the lack of food court.

You could always try the Dolphin. They have a buffeteria and are located on the Boardwalk, which is beautiful at night. You can also walk or boat to Epcot and MGM. Prices usually fall between the Disney mods and deluxes.

I have stayed at the Beach Club and POR, and I like POR much better. I did miss having a food court, the little snack shop does not make up for it. Plus we found the bus service to be better at POR. For me the only thing the Beach Club has going for it is proximity to the World Showcase. But you are only a 8 minute bus ride away form Epcot when you stay at POR. The bus service from the Beach Club was awful. The rides to MK and AK were so long! I honestly like POR much more than the Beach Club.
