Does anyone have any good pumpkin pie recipes?

this one is good, but anymore I just buy a frozen Mrs. Smith one and they are good too!

Del Monte Kitchens traditional pumpkin pie

2 eggs, beaten

1 can (16 ounces) pumpkin

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

11/4 teaspoons cinnamon

3/4 teaspoon ground ginger

3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon salt

2/3 cup milk

1 can (51/3 ounces) evaporated milk

1 9-inch pastry shell, unbaked

In large mixing bowl, combine the eggs and pumpkin. Blend in sugars, spices and salt. Add milks and mix well. Pour into pastry shell and bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and cool. Makes one 9-inch pie, 8 servings

this is a super easy cranberry recipe. I use to use fresh berries, but over the years I have started using this one with great luck.

CRANBERRY ORANGE SALAD

1 (3 oz.) pkg. raspberry Jello
1 c. boiling water
1 c. Ocean Spray Cran-Orange Relish
3/4 c. cold water
1 c. crushed pineapple, drained
1/4 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped
Sour cream
Sugar to taste

Dissolve Jello in boiling water. Blend in Cran-Orange relish. Add cold water. Chill until slightly thickened. Fold in pineapple and walnuts or pecans. Pour into mold or 9-inch square pan, chill until firm. Serve on lettuce with a dollop of sour cream mixed with a little sugar to taste.
Note: This is best made early in the morning, or the day before serving.

Do you do stuffing or dressing? I have a great dressing recipe, but don't have a stuffing recipe anymore (Though I found one many years ago that actually tasted like my mom's dressing.;))

We do dressing as to avoid contamination. We'd love to hear your recipe.

Hehehe... go to Safeway!

My best advice for turkey cooking is check BOTH ends of the bird and remove giblets (as a newly married wife many moons ago, I didn't know this until my father-in-law was carving it :p). And baste often for a nice golden brown skin :thumbsup2

haha...yes. I'm actually not a bad cook. I've cooked turkey before. I do know about the giblets part.

I use the cranberry sauce recipe on the back of the bag of Ocean Spray cranberries. And I make it the night before so it is nice and cold when I serve it.

I make stuffing. What's Thanksgiving without a little contamination? :lmao:

Anyway, I use the recipe on the back of the bad of cubed stuffing cubes, and add cooked sausage, apples and onion.

Then I make mashed potatoes, but I might try the recipe above - sounds yummy!

DH is in charge of the turkey - we just shove it in the oven and take it out when the timer goes off.

Then I make gravy and use the Wondra flour so we don't get lumps.

Oh, and I buy rolls and warm them up.

That's about it. Happy Thanksgiving!

You may already know this but: Just a warning when it comes to adding sausage to your dressing. While the turkey will be cooked at a certain temperature, the cavity of the turkey with the stuffing will have to be quite a bit hotter to ensure that the sausage is cooked. There are a lot of incidents with food poisoning due to sausage stuffing every Thanksgiving.
