Help us choose Disney Wish stateroom 10556 or 10618?

Hi all,

We are planning to book our first cruise trip with Disney Wish. We are considering 10556 or 10618, which stateroom should we book?

We are traveling with 3 adults and 1 20-months old baby. Since it will be our first cruise trip, we are a bit not sure about sea sick and sounds like the mid ship and a bit after would be better?

10618: starboard side, close to elevator and relative close to aft, little mermaid theme, bumped out verandah, but it is under marceline market
10556: starboard side, not very close to elevator and a bit close to forward ship, moana theme(not confirmed), a lightly bigger bumpedout verandah, it is under the lookout area.

We think both are great choices but it is hard to make a decision. Any suggestions are appreciated :)

Also, does anyone know if 10556 has a single wall pull down bed?

It will tell you if it has the pull down wall bed in the description when you go to book. If it has the pull down in addition to the bunk beds, it will say "queen bed, bunk beds, murphy bed" or something like that.

I stayed in 8620 which is more or less 2 decks below 10618, and I loved that location. Right next to the elevator bank/stairs.

(Edit: see @meliscan post of adjacent cabin later in this thread)

I would not pick 10556. It is directly under the food section Pool Deck (not next to the pool; but should be under an area where tables and chairs are, which often means very early morning furniture moving.

As a rule, I want to be surrounded by cabins - above, below, beside, and across. (Grey spaces on Deck Plans are crew areas and I am sensitive to the door slamming that it sometimes means. And sometimes I hear nothing).

Are you limited to Deck 10?

That's great insight! I haven't thought about the grey area and I was under the impression that they are just wall or something. We pick Deck 10 because we like the theme Moana/Little Mermaid and sounds like a good thing to be close to Deck 11.

Can you go down to 9? Then it’s only 2 flights up to 11 but you have a buffer of rooms in between.

This was my view of Castaway from 9530 on the Fantasy last November. The room was by the forward elevators . So you can make out some umbrellas and some buildings.

Yup, you are right
Just be aware that while GENERALLY the ships back in, there are occasions where they have to go in bow-first.

I'd personally never book a stateroom just because it usually gives a certain view. Whet if you're on the few sailings per year that they go bow-first?

The natural side of the island (which you usually see from the Port side) is very pretty too. Plus you can stand on your balcony and wave at the CMs who remain on the island and come to wave you off.

We were in 10098 and didn’t hear a thing above us, staying in same cabin on the treasure. We love deck 10, one flight of stairs to food court, MM, pool deck, etc. Our theme was Moana.

If you are trying to avoid noise, you can choose forward on deck 10 (which is below the staterooms on deck 11) for a regular sized verandah room, or forward on deck 11 (which is under the concierge rooms on deck 12) for a family-size verandah room. If you get a room near the end of the forward section, it's basically midship--they have rooms right by one of the elevator banks which is super convenient.

We were in 10558 last May and I was surprised by how little noise we heard from the Deck above. We had been on Deck 10 on the Fantasy and it was much louder than the Wish. I really like the room and location. We didn't haven't a lot of ship movement but that could have been our cruise as well. The room had an upper berth bed option and the murphy bed. Here is a picture of our room.

Good to know!

We stayed in 10556 last year. We had the upper berth and murphy bed (2 parents + 3 kids so we always have 4 beds). The stateroom was lovely and I had no complaints. I did hear noise from chairs being moved around above early in the morning but I am a very light sleeper and up early anyway. For the Treasure next year I have booked a lower deck though because if I had it do over again, I would want to make use of the stairs more and be more centrally located. We don't mind walking up 4 or so flights of stairs. I do not want to have to walk up more than that after an excursion, show, dinner, etc. The lines for the elevators were always horribly long during peak times. Our Treasure trip is sold out and so was the trip on the Wish so I'm already steeling myself for the elevator lines and trying to bypass that issue. Side note, a grown man goosed my 15 year old daughter's behind in line for the elevator and quickly walked on like nothing had happened and it was so crowded there was no way I could have stopped him nor could I have confirmed that it was actually him. She saw his face though. I only know what the back of his head looked like. Regardless, I now am leary of the elevator lines.

Btw, although you aren't supposed to do this, I sat out on the verandah and watched the pirate night fireworks and it was like my own private viewing. After the drive by goosing I couldn't take the crowds anymore. We normally do 7+ night cruises and this was our first and only short cruise. I was not used to the clamor and rush for activities on the ship that are associated with the short cruises so my husband and kids were upstairs and I blissfully watched the fireworks from my chair on my verandah. They were SO close but luckily none blew back in on me. Wouldn't do that with my children, but it was a magical moment for me.
