I think it is all booked up. It would be about 36 points that I would need, and am ready to give up and take any resort.

BUT WE REALLY REALLY have our heart set on staying there as I am trying to show hubby that we really need a DVC membership at BLT (He is almost convinced)

The reservation is for a HOLIDAY time. I know it is a busy time. What do you experts think my chances are? Should I give up and take anything?

Can you use DVC points to stay at regular Disney resorts, like CR?

Thanks for any advice.

Your post will be edited by a mod to remove the dates and the resort - you can't post a "rental wanted" posts here, only in the Rent/Trade forum. (or you could edit yourself to make you post more generic if you want).

You can use your DVC points to stay at other Disney resorts that don't have DVC, but it's not cost-effective - it takes a lot of points.

I think your chances for that resort and those dates at this point are probably very slim - it's just too close now to when you want to go.

Well your have now experienced one of the problems with DVC. Limited short notice availability for holidays and other popular times.

You can, but it costs more. And you can't use points to stay at any resort with a DVC resort connected to it, BWI, AKL, BC, CR, WL .

Sounds like a positive reason for the add-on....

...as you stand in the Concourse of the CR watching the monorail go by and eating a Mickey Bar; "Honey, we could have stayed HERE, instead, IF we were BLT members and could take advantage of the 11 month booking window." :thumbsup2

You could try waitlisting, and you may have a great chance even during Christmas. BLT is different than the other DVC resorts, because availability opens up once rooms are sold rather than through cancelled reservations. So, if new sales quickly increase due to the price increase at BLT, more sections will be available for DVC.

Good luck!

What do you mean by "wait listing'? How can I do that?

As a non-DVC owner, you can not waitlist. Owners, if there is no availability when they call for a reservation, can be placed on a waitlist in case a reservation opens up for a point reservation.

i can think of no better way to convince ur DH that you need a DVC membership @ BLT than to book the ressie thru WDTCo & watch him turn pale when u tell him how much it will cost when not staying on points;)

seriously, why not just book a split stay during ur trip, enjoing BLT for 2 nights or so?

good luck:wizard:
