Help - trying to avoid an international phone call

To start I’m a DVC member who lives in Australia so my main goal here is to avoid having to call member services. While I have a great phone plan for international calls, the time difference is a pain given my busy life, work, preference for a good night sleep, etc. Plus I spend enough time talking with IT support at work that I’d like to avoid this in my own time if possible.

I recently discovered that my DVC and Annual Pass linking have disappeared from MDE. The only thing that remains is my Castaway Club status. I’ve tried logging into DCL and discovered that the DVC link was lost from there too. I have to dig out my AP from storage to link it back but was trying to link the DVC back together and somehow have locked myself out of my DVC account.

I’ve logged back out of everything and tried to log in to my DVC account but it keeps asking if I’m a member and wants the activation code. Luckily I managed to find the club ID and activation code from when I first set myself up online a little over 2 years ago, but they’re not working. Any suggestions on how to get back in without calling member services for a new activation code? Is there something wrong with my DVC account (I have a lot of bookings I’m worried might get lost) or something wrong with my browser?

Just to clarify, I’m doing this from an iPhone and at home later when I link my AP back in will probably be on an iPad. My PC is old, slow and needs replacing so I generally don’t use it as I work at a computer all day so I don’t like to spend my evenings on one too. I’m also not tech savvy so please keep suggestions in very basic language.

Thanks in advance for any instructions or examples of your own experiences.

I would try using the online chat when you can use a real computer. I wouldn't be concerned though, probably a temporary glitch.

You can use Skype to call any land line or mobile. Call rates are extremely affordable - a $10 AUD load usually lasts 6 months for me.

Thanks but the problem isn’t the call costs, they’re included in my plan. Ts finding the time to make the call. Usually I call banks etc in my lunch break but by the time I get a break each day it’s too late and member services have closed. I can get up earlier and do it but hoping to solve the problem without it.

Send an email to member services describing the issues you are having in detail?

This. I live in the states, but between work and kids, never like to call. I always email - DVC issues, tech issues, etc. it may take a few days via email, but they always have helped without me having to be on the phone!

Try using incognito mode on a computer. When I have issues I use incognito mode and I am able to process stuff with my acct

Thanks.

The good news is that I now have everything linked back in MDE which may be a result of a Facebook message to DVC but I cannot yet log back in to DVC. Fingers crossed all my reservations are still there when I get back in! I’ll try this incognito thing you mention.

*sigh* they’ve messaged me back saying the only way to talk to tech support is to call. This means I’m stuck locked out for another two days unless I skip some sleep and call in the early hours of the morning - but my mornings are a bit busy at the moment so I’d rather wait.

Also I tried logging in from my work computer this morning just to be sure it wasn’t my own device settings - no luck!

I know Disney IT has not got the best track record for reliability but I’ve been using the site for over 2 years and now cannot even look at my dashboard!
