We are a family of eight staying 6 nights at disney at beach club then 2 nights at Hard rock hotel and then flying out? Anyone have advice on how to get from airport to disney to universal and back to airport? Won't need a car other than these stops. It's blowing my mind! Thanks for any help!

You can use DME to get from the airport to the Beach Club. I'd use a car service to go from BC to HRH and then to the airport. You'll probably need a van. FL Tours is a board sponsor and they offer a van that seats up to 10. You could also just book the 3 legs with a company. You can get a free grocery stop on your way to BC.

Thanks for your help! Anyone else ever done this?

Many people rent a car for a day. It gives you an opportunity to do some shopping.

A standard mini-van doesn't have seats for 8. You might check with National/Alamo and see if what it would cost to reserve an 8 passenger vehicle at the Dolphin.

I didn't originally suggest it because I don't think renting an 8 passenger vehicle will be easy or economical.

Why go thru all the trouble of renting a vehicle. It costs about $30.00 to get to Universal from Disney and about $45.00 to get back to MCO. Just give a car service a call and set up the two rides. I would assume you will be taking the DME to Disney. If not a car service will be able to pick you up at MCO and take you to Disney, including a grocery stop.

A car service was my first suggestion, a lot easier than renting a car. Particularly for a family of 8. The OP came back and asked for other options.

Edd wouldn't a family of 8 with luggage need a van? Some drivers claim a SUV won't comfortably fit 8. Your numbers may be low. FL Tours wants $75 for a van just for the Universal to MCO leg. Other car service companies charge at least $70. It looks like the WDW to Universal leg will cost at least $50. Add a 15-20% tip to those figures.

Lewis,

They do need a van. Suv's are really cramped with 8. Those are high figures. You can find a 10 passenger van for around $40.00 to Universal and to MCO from Universal for 50.00. Here is a brand new van # Edwards Transportation 321-624-4840. I just called him and got the same quotes from him. He actually quoted me $35.00 to Universal.

The cheaper prices are with the drivers who don't pass around rides for an extra percentage. You know the site that does have independent drivers listed on it.

A car service sounds like the way to go! Thanks for the tip on Edwards Transportation. And I agree, an SUV for us is cramped with luggage for 8. Thanks again!
