Hey DISer's! I will be in Disney next week for a few days and am trying to figure out the best way to get from MCO to Boardwalk. I am meeting my sister and her family there, and since I am not a guest of the resort DME is not an option.

So now I am looking into alternate transportation methods from MCO and I am kind of on a budget. Wondering what others have used in the past?

My sister and her family aren't even using DME because they are renting a car, but I arrive after they do and depart before they do as well.

Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Hey DISer's! I will be in Disney next week for a few days and am trying to figure out the best way to get from MCO to Boardwalk. I am meeting my sister and her family there, and since this was a last minute decision and all other rooms were sold out, I am staying with them.

BUT, my sister was unable to add my name to the reservation because the CM said it was already at the max # of occupants. So, DME is out of the question because my name is not on the ressie. So now I am looking into alternate transportation methods from MCO and I am kind of on a budget. Wondering what others have used in the past?

If there's no room for you, then you should get your own room and then you'll be able to use ME.

You do realize that if you get caught in your sister's room that is over capacity that Disney can and will most likely remove all if you from the resort.

What you are doing is wrong and against Disney policy. It is also against DisBoard rules to create posts that violate Disney's policy and rules.

I'd be careful about rooming with your sister as PPs has mentioned. Not only isn't it right, but Disney has eyes everywhere, and it's not unlikely for them to find out! It's also a safety issue if anything should happen.

As for the transportation, I've used the Mears shuttle a couple of times. Their fee is $21 one way or $34 for a return ticket to WDW area.

Mears shuttle is around $35 round trip from MCO. A taxi to an Epcot Area resort is $55-$65 one way. We paid $65 to Swan/Dolphin this year.

They have three small children and will be in a Boardwalk Villa. I was under the impression that different rules were in place for the larger rooms. I will look into it.

Thank you for your advice as far as transportation.

If they are in a 2-bedroom, there will be no problem adding you to their current reservation. There's bedding for 8 and two full bathrooms. You would be able to use DME transportation and luggage service, even if they have a rental car and even if you're arriving after the check-in date and leaving before the check-out day. DME is free, pleasant, and efficient. Your sister would set up DME for you through DVC Member Services if it's a DVC points reservation or through whomever the reservation was made with if it's a traditional reservation.

If they are in a studio or 1-bedroom, then the room would be over the occupancy limit. Also, such rooms really can't handle 6 people, even if 3 are children. In both cases, there would only be one larger bed and one sofabed. And there would only be one bathroom.

What size villa do they have? If they can add you to the room, then you will be all set. Without being added to the room, you do run the risk of the whole family getting kicked out. Not to mention, you won't be able to take advantage of any Extra Magic Hours as you won't have a room key.

I thought that too. But looking on All Ears it states that if they have a studio with a daybed the OP would be able to be added to that room. A regular studio or a one bedroom villa won't work. But the other options will work.

Thanks everyone! I'm not sure why posts keep appearing above my posts, after I post them. My sister gave me the wrong info about their reservations at first, so right now I am waiting for her to confirm. I see that some rooms at CBR opened up, so that is an option if I can't stay with them.

I appreciate the feedback!

Well, that was certainly confusing to read...not sure why the timing of posts is so out of whack.
In any case.....the studios at BWV don't have day beds. Some of them do have a bench like thing....smaller than a crib mattress and not suitable for sleeping on. You have a queen bed, and a double sleep sofa. You can have 5 in a studio or one bedroom if one of the five is 3 or under....otherwise, you're over capacity.

Hopefully, the OP can book her own room. She'll be much happier in any case. Does she really want to room with 2 other adults and 3 kids??? And if she gets her own room, she can use DME and get all the perks of staying onsite..EMHs, pkg delivery to the resort, etc.
