So what's up with Top of the World Lounge. Are reservations required now? I keep seeing something about Wicked Wind Down for $$.

Can members still go up on a first come first serve basis to get drinks and food?? Can we go up just to watch fireworks??

We are staying at BLT and wanted to do a date hour there.

Thanks!!

Wicked Wind Down is a paid experience, currently through October 12. But they are likely to extend.

For people not booked to WWD, you have to come at 5:45pm to register any night. You need your DVC a digital ID, and have to be eligible for Member Extras (DVC Y on the card, no recent resale owners).

They may allow you up without the 5:45 checkin if you arrive and there is room, but only if there is room, so not as much on demand as prior, and showing up for just the fireworks is chancy. There are tables reserved for WWD bookings.

It’s now part of membership Magic so only those eligible..DVC Y…the blue card…can go.

They have been offering a special nightly event that guarantees you have a table when you check in at 8 pm. It’s the Wicked Wind Down for $55/person plus tax and tip. It includes a drink, appetizer snd the dessert. This is currently until October 12th but might be extended

If you want to go first come, first serve, then you can…if the lounge is full, the waitlist you and text when it’s time to come up.

Wait, even resale BLT owners can't access now?

The lounge is a commercial unit and has always been leased to Disney.

It is not something funded by dues so BLT owners are just like all other owners

Any resale owner, including those who own at BLT, who don’t have a blue card/DVC Y is restricted.

I understand the lounge itself is not funded by BLT owners, but wasn't there a discussion a long time ago that it sits on property belonging to BLT owners?

But it’s a commercial unit, and includes the observation deck which means BLT owners have no right to access it.

The POS is clear that any access to the space for owners of BLT was simply a courtesy and not something they were entitled to have.

Disney and DVD got to decide who has access and they decided to make it a restricted

Technically it doesn’t have to be DVC at all.

Any recent experiences with accessing the lounge without a paid reservation? Showing up at, say, 8pm to hang out a bit then watch the fireworks? Is it pretty much always full? Pre-pandemic it seemed to be lightly used, right?

Do they let you go to outside terrace if you show up just for fireworks?

When you say to show up at 5:45 to register, are you reserving a table?

I got an email Friday afternoon they were extending the dates. I called Friday evening at 6:30 - they were already sold out for my dates (10/23 - 10/30 😡
I was told you can go there and try to get in but it’s standby - not sure it will be worth trekking over there to find out we can’t get in. It’s always been one of my favorite things to do and we’ve never had a problem getting in so I’m less than thrilled that Disney has created ‘hype‘ with the space and messing with its format…..

You are not reserving a table. It is a wait list; they will text you if there is room to come up.

At BLT now. Arrived late, thought we’d get room dregs (happened to us on Saturday at portofino that was oversold)…nope.

Checked on way to room, told the lounge appeared to be full tonight for standbys. The lounge is great, however, you cannot beat being able to watch the FW from your own balcony :cloud9:

Must resist adding on here:p
