DUMB QUESTION I am sure, BUT...

For those "not home resort" reservations is it 210 days from check-in or 7 months (as in the same date as check-in only 7 months earlier)????:confused3

Sorry, I have the dumb when it comes to my new DVC stuff......:sad2:

It's 7 months. Not exactly 210 days. For example, today is August 12, 2009, you can book non-home resort for check in on March 12, 2010.

Same for 11 months; today 8/12/09 you can book trip beginning 7/12/10

:goodvibes

Just sign on to the member website and click on 'My Vacation Points'. There it will give you your booking windows. Today it shows:
  • Currently, you may request a reservation for a Disney Cruise Line® vacation that has a sail date on or before August 12, 2011, some sailings may not be available for booking at the 24-month window.
  • Currently, you may request a reservation at your Home Resort for vacations that have a check-in date on or before July 12, 2010, based upon availability.
  • Currently, you may request a reservation at any Disney Vacation Club Resort for vacations that have a check-in date on or before March 12, 2010, based upon availability.

Just sign on to the member website...

Thanks all!!:thumbsup2

Still finalizing paperwork so we don't have access yet to the member website....

As has already been posted, it's 7/11 months prior to check in. However, there will be times when there is no corresponding date. For example, let's say you want to book your home resort for a stay beginning on Jan 30, 2011. Eleven months prior would be Feb 30, 2010 but that date doesn't exist. According to Caskbill, you should be able to book that stay on Feb 28, 2010 but the reservation software MS uses may not let you do so and they may tell you to call back on Mar 1st.

Seems most of your ??s have been answered. I just wanted to add to not feel dumb. It has taken most if not all members some time to catch on to all the ways that DVC works. I am still learning even since becoming a member in 02. But you are at the right place to ask questions.

Ditto to Jiimytammy - there are not many dumb questions on these board. that is how we all learn! Welcome to the group!

Thanks all!!:thumbsup2

Welcome Home Soon! Hope your get your papers finalized and you have many happy Disney Dreams in years to come. Just remember...everyone started out as a newbie....so we all had/have questions at times. The Disboards is the best place to ask for answers.

Thanks guys!

Got my member number today :cool1: SOOOOO excited!!!!

And after a while you can make DVC mistakes like I did. I called at 3 months for 90 + 10 reservations, only to discover that it was only 92 days! :headache:
