Hi!

I have made an ADR for our upcoming trip for Tokyo Dining but am now second guessing myself. It will be me (not a picky eater), DH (meat and chicken eater) and DS10 (meat, chicken and some seafood).

Do you think I should try and change it to Teppan Edo? Which do you prefer?

Tell me your likes and dislikes...

Thank you!

Here are some pictures from our dinner at Teppan Edo (when under the different name). I really enjoyed it and my DH is a meat guy-not adventurous. He enjoyed it.

I really loved this meal - one of my favorites!:thumbsup2

Teppen Edo :worship: It's a must do for us every year. My boy's freaked out last year when Disney called and canceled on us.

I have a very picky family and they all LOVED Teppen Edo. It was not only great food but a great show. I have never been to Tokyo Dining so I can't compare.

Tokyo Dining had some of the best sushi I have ever eaten. But if you're not a big sushi fan, I would recommend Teppan Edo.

Thank you everyone! I think I am swaying towards revising to Teppan Edo...looks yummy!

I refuse to eat sushi and loved Tokyo Dining. Its a nice atmosphere, the service was phenomenal and they had lots of choices beyond sushi. And you have nice views of the World Showcase lagoon and Illuminations if you time it right.

I enjoy Japanese food very much, but sort of don't enjoy the Bennihana type set up so many have. So for us, we much prefer Tokyo Dining.

We loved the tempura (shrimp and veggies) as well as the steak. Ds does love sushi and said it was the best he had eaten. I just loved the atmosphere, it was one of our favorite meals in June and a must do from here on out.

And you know, not to take a thing away from Tepan Edo, but Tokyo Dining is realtively new. So not many people have tried it out yet. So the fact it isn't getting as many votes is more of an indication of the fact many people just don't know about it yet.

I don't think you can make a bad choice. I just don't like the whole eating with strangers thing. Which is why when I find a nice Japanese restaurant that isnt' that set up, I am very happy!

can you get tempura at teppan edo? we have an adr there and although the rest of the family are big teppan dining fans, i love tempura and have not had it in ages...

if not, is it available as CS in Japan?

Yes, Tepan Edo has Tempura. As does Yakitori House and Tokyo Dining. Can you tell I also like tempura??;)

Check out the menus on www.allearsnet.com for what sort of tempura they have at each place.

thanks amy/dan... after i posted i did exactly what you suggested... now i'm even more excited to try teppan edo as we'll be on deluxe and a tempura appetizer is included... woohoo!! :)

You are 100% correct about this. I think that Tokyo Dining has a much better menu with more selection, and if you are not in the mood for the "show", then it is a quieter atmosphere with absolutely outstanding views. Also, I have never had a nicer service experience than our last lunch at Tokyo Dining- anywhere, ever! The food is more than just sushi - they have tempura, teriyaki, etc. I think this is quickly becoming my new "hidden gem" in WDW, especially now that everyone seems to know about how awesome Kona Cafe is!
