HELP PLEASE!!!:worship: I am still Christmas shopping and have been VERY disorganized this year and feeling it :( BUT! I need some help with some gifts for a few people I have left (We have family Christmas over new years so I am shopping tomorrow (Thursday)) - we do name exchanges for the family but we still get little gifts for some family members (ie dad and brothers because I want to) - MUST be BUDGET BUDGET BUDGET - but I dont want to look cheep either - I think I just have the following left

#1 - 28 year old brother - married (no kids) Computer Geek/Gamer Under $10 (For example: got his wife a CUTE Christmas Penguin Salt and Pepper Shaker Set - spend $10 - got my other brother a board game on sale at B&N for $1 (Reg $39.95)

#2 - 60+ Year old Uncle - married (no kids) has everything he ever wanted and then some :) $50ish - this was my family name draw - only two things on his list were iphone car charger (which I will get) & a Leather pop up Business Card Holder from Red Envelope (but cant order online as I waited too long - LOL) - would love to find it but no idea where to look locally (Midwest)

#3 - 60+ Year Old Aunt - married to above Uncle (no kids) has everything she ever wanted :) But has always been there for me like a mom :) $50ish - this was my hubbies name draw - a few things on list like an iphone car charger (again I think I will get this) - I was thinking maybe an antique serving dish or somesort but????

#4 - An idea for my 7 year old daughter to "make" everyone - she has made frames, magnets, and painted small boxes in the past years - something we can get done in a day :) Woops :) Must be BUDGET!!!!!!!! I am on a little Budget with this!

Please help help help - sorry I am so behind and hate it!!!! :guilty:

Sounds like you mostly have the gifts down...

Maybe for the aunt and uncle a couple of nice mugs and some gourmet coffees with fancy biscuits or teas with nice honey or stir sticks or hot cocoa with snazzy marshmallows? Or a couple of good wine glasses and a nice bottle of something.

Or if they like, say, the movies, stop at the theatre and pick up some vouchers and get a gift card to their favourite restaurant. It's not about that they can't afford to do that on their own - but about you knowing them and saying 'I know you guys, you enjoy this, have this night out together on me because I want you to have a good time.'

For your daughter to make - maybe she could do something fun and draw a picture of them and her and write a little story about her favourite day with them or her favourite memory or why she loves them? Doesn't have to be a huge deal, could do it as a homemade card, with a drawing of them on the outside and then on the inside - I love Aunt Suzie because she always makes me feel so special and I love to talk to her and when we go to lunch we have a great time, or whatever. That'd mean more to them than a frame or whatnot, I suspect.

Great idea for my daughter - I will see if she wants to do that :) would be cute :) she loves ART :)

I have some ideas just lost and disorganzied so thanks for the guidence

For #2 and #3 - SmarTouch Isotoner gloves sold at Wal-mart for $14. They can be used to operate iPhone and still keep their hands nice and toasty! My nieces and nephew loved these, and so do I. Possibly something that some that "has everything" may not have thought of. :-)

#4 - Christmas ornaments made out of craft piping - green, white and red - twisted them around each other and then bend to make candy canes. I don't know if you have a Micheal's craft store near you? Or any other craft store probably. All Christmas crafts should be at least 70% off by now. Go take a look and I'm sure you can find something.

Ideas for your 7 year old to make:

Origami Christmas tree ornaments (cranes are easy - just get some nice origami paper at the craft store, or you can even just cut up some old heavy Christmas wrapping paper into squares)

Bird feeders (pine cones covered with peanut butter, then bird seed)

Painted drink coasters - this is what DD11 made as her gift to my family this year - get regular white bathroom tiles ($.30 type at Home Depot, etc.) and paint them with Pebeo Porcelaine 150 paints (available at the craft stores around here) . They also make paints that are for glass - you could have her paint tea light holders, etc. You have to let the tiles dry for a day once painted, then bake them quickly in the over, but overall they are easy to work with. I suggest also gluing some felt squares on the bottom to keep them from scratching tables.

Those Christmas tree ornaments where you get plain glass balls, squirt some paint in them and swirl it around. If you google around for kids Christmas crafts, you'll find proper directions because I'm sure mine have you just scratching your head :rotfl2:

Painted flower pots (smaller ones can be used for many things, like pen holders, not just plants)

And last year, my daughter wrote a "How to be a <Last Name>" poem. It was the year my father passed away, so it was very meaningful. It just had a list of things like "Love long, loud family dinners" and "Like to argue politics" (LOL) and "Believe family is the most important thing of all". I just typed it up using some nice fonts, printed it out and put it in a dollar store picture frame - everyone loves them and I always see them displayed.

#1 a Stanley tripod LED flashlight (for some reason these are always a big hit with whatever male receives it).

#2 and #3- the smart touch gloves are a great idea and they go with the iphone charger theme.

For you dd to make-
(white) model magic ornaments. Just flatten it out in whatever shape, or use a cookie cutter, and use a stamp to press a pattern into it, paint it so the pattern will show. Make a hole in the top and string a ribbon through.

In the Wal-mart near me, they have a section near the jewerly counter that has purses, backpacks, gloves and scarves. In the Wal-mart by my parent's house the gloves were on racks in the women's and men's clothing sections.

For geeky brother: small screwdriver mini set. Ususally under $10, comes in small set and can be used/stored anywhere.

I just finished my shopping tonight (sister and her partner get here tomorrow), and I too have a 7 yo dd.

We made them a no sew fleece blanket, the fleece was on sale for $3/yd, needed two pieces, 1.5 yards each, $9 total.

I also found a box of 10 frames, assorted sizes, on clearance at Target. I printed out a ton of family pics and will frame them tomorrow morning. The frames plus the one hour printing was about $15.

I love the glove idea to go with the charger.

GL!

for your DD.

Take a wrapped candy cane. Hook brown pipe cleaners on for the antlers. Glue on wiggly eyes and a red poof for the nose. I don't have a pictures but my kids used to make these and everyone loved them. Google it for a picture.

And candy canes have to be on clearance right now.....
