Help Staying at the BCV first time?

Going to be at the beach club in Oct. We are bringing my DH parents from NY. They are elderly and have trouple walking. We will rent a W/C at the parks I wondered if they have them at the front desk. Also what would be a good room to requist close to the bus stop or boat docks and close to the elevator not worried about the view.

DVC resorts do have a limited number of wheelchairs available at the front desk. You could also rent and ECV from one of the medical supply places for what I think is a reasonable fee. Doing that would save the back of those who would have to push a wheel chair too!

As for being near the bus stop and boat dock...Neither of those are very close to the villas, but the bus stop is closest. If you are using a wheelchair or ECV, it will be super easy to get yourself into Epcot, but for the parks needing a bus or boat, just the dock is a LONG walk from the villas.

There is information in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of the disABILITIES Board that talks about the different ways to get wheelchairs and ECVs (including phone numbers and weblinks to the off-site rental places).

I agree with Diana that the villas are kind of a long walk from the transportation.

We took my dad with us a few years ago and he couldn't walk well at all so I went to the front desk and they gave us a wheelchair for the entire stay at no charge - it was great because we didn't have to wait for him and he just could not keep up - so we moved along quite well with it.

Requesting a certain room probably won't happen for you. Request what is important, room close to bus stop. As said above, it won't be real close, but you can request to be as close as possible.

When you get a wheelchair from the resort, they take your credit card and hold the chair with your card. If you don't return the chair, you get charged for it. I think it was $250.
