Being in the military you have to plan vacations the last minute because you never know if you will get to take leave. Anyways we have decided to change up our normal plans and visit califorinia but recently relaized I dont have a clue on what to do or how to do it. Heck even where we should stay, thats the most imporatant part, dont need a condo but dont want to stay in a shack either.

We are driving from New Mexico and expect it to be 14+ hr road trip. Should be some sightseeing on the road trip there. We believe we should be able to be gone during these dates 29 May to 7-8 June, so basically a week.

DisneyLand is on our list of must do, LegoLand would be nice and maybe the zoo. What else should I be looking at? We thought maybe a dinner show after reading about the pirate show. We did the knight of the round table in Vegas and we enjoined it even though it was pricey.

I would like to seen some of the more famous sites and yes the beach if possible but I have to keep in mind that our two kids are coming as well, so it needs to be family friendly. We have a 4 yr old and 2 month old.

I read here to start south and work up to DL. So I guess finishing our trip at DL woulndt be to bad of an idea.

So please will someone help me? I know we will eventually make it back to Califorinia but just in case we dont I would like to hit the better hightlights or must does. But most important, RELAX...

I know someone out there can help set my trip up so I dont look like a fool to my wife and can actually have a trip that was funn and I want to remember.

Thankyou, ahead of time.

You can start in San Diego and work up. Legoland is only about 30 miles from San Diego. You can drive up the coast from San Diego to Carlsbad and see plenty of beach, then go inland to Legoland. From there, go up to Disneyland. There's plenty in San Diego alone to keep you busy. The zoo would be great for a young child, perhaps Sea World, too. San Diego also has nice beaches, like Mission and Pacific Beach.
