It's been snowing here for 2 days and starting again. I haven't been able to go out to try to clear away any of this mess cause I've been down with the flu or what ever is going around. Looks like a good 30 inches blocking the front doors and the back doors has about 2 inches of ice built up around it plus snow. We still have electric but the cable went out last night around 8:15. DH left for work 2 days ago I heard from him this morning he is somewhere between NY and PA tring to get home driving a tractor trailer carrying 43,335 tons of Frito-Lay products.

Oh well, looks like the perfect day to watch all the vidoes we took while on our last Disney cruise. Maybe some of that island sunshine will shine on my back door to thaw it out. LOL :sunny: :smooth:

i hope he has those new tostitos gold chips on board
they r awesome , and all is ok just woke up and it is just starting to snow here north of boston 20 mile and wife was yelling down the stair honey we r getting a blizzard
our cable goes out when the wind blows so we will have to wait and see i changed the wall paper on our pc to a tropical island scene cause that is what we need right now

It started here last night - at least 10 inches right now and supposed to keep snowing all day long :( . I don't think I'll be out of the house until spring.

I WANT TO GO ON MY CRUISE NOW!!!!!

I tried to go to work this morning, but got stuck at the end of our driveway. Snowplows haven't made it to our neighborhood, and I was just told not to expect them for awhile. So...no work today, and no callbacks either! I guess we'll have to watch the DCL video, and pretend we're in the Carribean!

We're just down the road- Saugus- Channel 5 news put Boston at 15-16 inches with high winds and coastal flooding. Sounds like a blizzard to me. Thankfully it is school vacation- no where to go- we will make our Blockbuster run this mornign. Then it is popcorn and hot cocoa  Although, I really wish I could be on my cruise NOW !!

Here's an idea - mix up a batch of Konk Koolers, put on an ocean audio tape, put your cruise video in and push your heat up to 85.

When I got up this morning around 5:30 am, I measured the It just keeps coming down. Thank goodness that the kids didn't have school today. I'm sure they won't have school tomorrow either. I just want my cruise to come sooooo bad. It's still so far away. Maybe I'll climb back into bed and dream I'm there. Yeah..that will work. I hope. I girl can dream can't she??:sunny:

Great idea on the video, I have not watched the tape we took yet from Cozumel in December, since we are suppossed to get ANOTHER 1-2 FEET of snow today-tuesday I think I will just watch that.. too bad I don't have the ingrediants for a konk cooler :(

We have about 22 inches on the ground now, and it is sleeting and snowing, and the winds are very strong. Made a batch of konk coolers last night. Couldn't even get out of the driveway today if i tried. :p

We have about 24" here (right by Dulles Airport). My DH (his birthday was yesterday) got to shovel 4 times on his special day. I told him he got his exercise for the day as he could not drive to the gym.

The good news is the snow had STOPPED!! at least for a little while. It looks like it is getting ready to start again. My kids were supposed to have school today (Presidents Day make up for last weeks snow)...and now school has been cancelled already for tomorrow.

My DS13 asked me if they are still in school for July 4th....will they get that day off??? What does anytone think??? LOL:bounce: :Pinkbounc

SNOWED IN!!!! The snow is up to my mailbox and has drifted to completely cover one side of my car to the roof. Fortunately today is a holiday for DD and myself. I doubt very much if there will be school tomorrow. I'll have to figure out what to do with her since our new Mayor has said he will never close townhall (where I work) even if the Governor declares a state of emergency (which he has).

Unfortunately I did not take any video of our Western cruise in Jan. But I do have some video from an Eastern in 2001. I'm sure that will do. No tropical drink mix available, do you think orange juice with a cherry will do? Here's to blizzards and warm memories!!

Ginger, I'm sending some pixie dust to yo & your DH!! The good thing is, he won't starve! :)

We went to Blockbuster yesterday morning. What a nightmare! I looked around, saw the line of about 100 people and left. We'll just have to watch our Disney videos again!

i lived in altoona pa. i am on the july 19th cruise. i hate winter. we had over 12+ inches of snow. can't wait to get in the hot sun.\

We got about 2' here in Central NJ, and it's snowing again :(

Well, they closed the schools here for tomorrow. My DH drove us to my mom's so DD could spend the night and be there tomorrow. She lives under 10 miles away.

What an adventure! My street wasn't bad and most of the roads on the way over were ok. Then we hit her development and couldn't even get onto her street. We circled the development looking for a way in and almost got stuck.

Some poor guy was stuck, so I told my DH to help him out and I would walk DD into the development and to my mom's. I tried to keep her in the tire tracks but we had a dickens of a time. Well, we eventually got there and then I realized I was going to have to walk back out!

My mom's car was so buried I only knew it was there because I know where she parks. It looked like one big mound of snow.

It would be more fun if I didn't know I was going to have to repeat the journey tomorrow. Hope everyone else is fairing well and some of you get to stay home tomorrow.

Sorry to hear all your stories of the snow! We're here in warm south Florida in Naples and you're all welcome to visit!

We moved from Maine 5 years ago...so believe me I know the snow stories.

Looking forward to our second cruise on the Wonder on the 16th of March. 18 of us going...going to be a family reunion blast.

Stay warm all!

I saw on this morning's weather forecast that you folks were really having it super bad - in fact was counting the number of folks that had lost their lives due to the worse snow storm in 7 years - I can not even fathom the idea of what it is like - I just know when it gets cold here in Florida, I envy the hiberating bears
:D
Anyhow I hope for each of you, that the sun comes out real soon and brings a lot of warm and toasty weather to thaw you out and so that the children can go out and feel the warmth of life and parents don't get the urge to strangle them ;)
Take care and keep us posted
Always
Shirley

Warmth is not what we need right now. We have 2-3 feet of snow and too much warmth and we will be totally flooded. It only got to 38 degrees today and the roads were finally plowed so my DH went to the grocery (all the teenagers had eaten us out of house and home). The parking lot had water almost over the wheels of his car!! They are now saying a large rain storm with warm weather is heading this way for Sat and they are already preparing for floods.

Please spring.....slowly but surely!

Could all of you send that snow this way??? Utah has NO snow and we usually have ALOT!!!! We need some but you are all getting it...NO FAIR! LOL Just Kidding!!! I envy you getting the snow we need..we may not be able to use any water for any extra activities this summer so that will stink!!! I wish we were getting snowed on...but oh well....Maybe next year. Golfing this afternoon in 50 degrees was nice but the snow would have been nicer!!!!

Heidi (praying for snow)
