**HELP!** Service Dog Procedures/Advice Needed ASAP!

On our WBTA cruise the "potty" was on the promenade deck:

A CM periodically cleans it up. I figure they hand the waste the same way they handle the waste from the diaper genies in the rooms - incinerator.

Keep of the "grass" So funny!!! Love it though.

What did you need to do to get this handled? Perhaps documenting it will assist the next person with an issue.

DCL special services department handles all special needs, including service dog issues. Once you contact special services, you will be asked to fill out a form(s) for all special needs. DCL will handle paperwork (permit) in getting it to the Bahamas. Service dog owner must get certification from vet. Problem was we were getting different information as to timing, procedure and processing of paperwork. Our situation is resolved and we will have the Bahamas permit before our sail date. As soon as you know you are cruising with a service dog, let DCL know.

I was also given advice to ask for a pitcher or two of filtered water from room service to be delivered each day so that the service animal is not drinking from bathroom tap water.

For those without a veranda stateroom, relief area is on deck 4 aft.

We are so excited to be going on a cruise, not only with our grandkids but with Fielder the Super Dog!!!!

I'm not sure who gave you the above "advice" but ALL water onboard the ship is the same -- filtered with reverse osmosis (or something like that), not standard "tap" water. There's really no need for additional filtering of the water available in your stateroom, room service, drink station, etc.

Yup! Everyone can drink from the tap. Seems odd (not to us in Hawaii, but to most mainlanders), but it's totally fine. Bring refillable bottles!

Yeah I don't get where the pitcher of water advice came from. All "tap" water on the ship is already filtered.

A service dog owner gave me the suggestion for the pitcher of water. She does this on every DCL cruise.

We want to take the Panama Crossing cruise 9/12/14. Did not book yet, as whatever is necessary for Calvin, my husband's hearing service dog, is VERY unclear... Getting mixed info (from DCL SS) from contacting the embassy, consulate and dept of ag from countries we port (Mexico and Colombia) to possibly just a form from our vet.
Should we book first and then Disney special services will help further?
My husband is also a disabled veteran, in case that is relevent to this situation.
Appreciate the help of anyone that has been through this already. We want to start getting excited about the actual cruise!!

Hello,
I am looking for direction. My family and I will be going on the St Maarten/St. Thomas cruise in August. My 18yo son has a guide dog. I contacted special services who in turn emailed me an application to import domestic animals into the commonwealth of the Bahamas. I will be calling Special Services tomorrow to discuss what is needed. The disclaimer on DCL states that we are responsible for contacting any countries we will visiting to obtain the necessary permits. Something about consulates and embassy's. Lol. I am hoping for direction on what to expect and what things I will need to obtain in order for Qianna to travel with us. The email DCL sent sent back to me states the Bahamas requires that "the animal must be accompanied by a Vet Health Certificate presented within 48hrs of arrival to a licensed vet for an exam"?? So we need to get her to a vet there? I'm very confused. I'm one to make sure all of our ducks are in a row way in advance so any direction would be appreciated.
