The entire family was sick over Christmas. It started as a cold. We all started to get better and my son got conjunctivitis. He has been on medicine for over a week, but still has a watery eye. I called the ped and she said it was normal. Hubby started feeling sick again the other day. He said his eye hurt and started using the conjunctivitis meds JIC. Last night I was up all night with ear pressure and pain in my right ear. I woke up and took Sudafed and now my right eye and nose on the right side as been running (clear) non stop. I also have a slight ear pain but no more pressure... Hubby just started complaining that he has the same 1 sided pressure in his ear/sinuses.

Does this sound like allergies or a virus.. no one has a fever or anything. I was told that it isnt a sinus infection because drainage is clear?

I'm sorry, I know it's basically sound advice, but I have to laugh when people say "see your physician" over things like a watering eye... With insurance the way it is and doctor costs the way they are, it has to be waaaaaaayyy more serious than that to warrant a trip to the doctor.

Anyways, OP, I had that same exact thing about a month ago. Just my right eye and the right side of my nose, watering/running constantly. Drove me nuts! And was gone the next day. Just some weird allergy of some sort. Hope yours goes away quick, too!

thanks!

I did see a doctor on Friday for my ears and he said it was just allergies.he told me to take an allergy med.. I ended up going to the store and buying one that had something for all my symptoms and it did help.. but I am still a bit stuffy/watery on that side...

I use Claritin D for my allergies. works great for me.

I remember that my son's eye used to run when he had a cold. The Dr told me that all of that is connected(ear/eye/nose) and that if the mucus couldn't drain out of the nose fast enough it was forced up and out of the eye. He told me it was perfectly normal and unless it was oozing blood, not to worry about it.

Sounds like sinus infection to me.I get this every year at Christmas time-was at the doctor the Saturday before xmas this year and for me it is always a sinus infection and ear infection.I always have clear drainage and this time I didn't get much drainage -my doctor told me there are different sinuses and I had an infection in the ones above the eyes near the temple.I usually wind up on antibiotic and he gives me allergy eye drops for the runny eye.It is always my right side(right eye, right ear, headache on right side of face). He laughs at me because he sees me during the same 2 week time period every year for the last 6 years for the same thing-I tell him he should just call in the meds and save me the effort!!I would go to the doctor if you don't feel any better soon-I usually wind up with a sinus headache that won't go away even after taking cold and sinus meds then I know it's time to go.Hope you feel better!
