Does anyone have pictures of ride vehicles? I am particularly interested in the wheelchair accessible Toy Story Mania and Ariel's Under Sea Adventure and any transfer accessible cars.

I just got this trip confirmed like two weeks ago and am scrambling.

Als, do you think the CM's will freak if I bring medical equipment? Suction bag? Ambu bag? Oxygen? TPN bag? Maybe my vent?

I have to have the TPN bag 'cause I am attached to it but it's pretty innocent looking. Do they allow oxygen tanks? Dad might have to bag me or I might transfer with my vent...Thoughts?

What are the best rides?

Thanks!!

Just clarify, the trip is to DISNEYLAND. I'm hoping Bill sees this because he has had EXCELLENT pictures.
I have pictures of WDW and will post some that I am quite certain are the same.
Buzz Lightyear is a bit different inside at WDW than at DL, but the ride cars appear the same. Here's a good YouTube video of DL.

And a ride car picture from WDW:

There were some modifications made earlier this year at both parks. As far as I know, the main change was to add wheelchair tie downs and the crs at both cars are the saMe.
Here is a link to a thread earlier this year about the change. It has at least one excellent picture and a number of people added information about their power wheelchair fitting on it.

Important to be aware that most of the ride you are sitting stationary in front of a game screen, but after completing one game, there is kind of a sudden fast spin to get to the next game screen.

As far as I know, the accessible Jungle Cruise boat is the same at DL and WDW. Here are pictures of the WDW boat.

Thanks Sue. :thumbsup2

Here are the pictures I took from my DL trip. I really wish I had gotten one of Space Mountain because it was so unique.

Sue does have a link to this post in her FAQ in the DL section. But I'll post them here also.

Here's the special car for Pinocchio with the side of the car opened. Snow white has a car that's just like this one.

This is the ride car for California Screamin. It's got a set of "steps" to lower yourself down into the coaster.

Here is the car for Mr Toads Wild ride. It's not adapted in any way but it's not too tough of a transfer for me.

This is the car for Peter Pan. Unlike the ride in WDW at DL they can stop the ride so there is time to make the transfer. I'm not sure how long they'd be willing to stop it since there are cars backing up behind you but they didn't rush me at all for this. It was great to ride to Nerverland again.

It's a Small World is a bit different at DL then WDW. It's still a ride you can roll onto but the vehicle has a spot similar to the Jungle Cruise platform. You roll out onto it and they spin it to face forward.

This is the picture of the accessible Big Thunder Mountain Railroad car with the side folded down at WDW but it's the same as at DL.

This is the screen that they use for the Finding Nemo ride. Since the subs aren't accessible at all you can go to a small room near the ride where they show a video of what you would see outside of the sub's window.

Here's a picture of the Tower of Terror in WDW but the ride car is the same for DL. The front opening slides to the side and is wide enough for me to roll my wheelchair right up to the seat for an easy transfer. Hopefully you can see where the gate is....Besides I love this picture, the park was so empty we got a whole elevator car to ourselves!

Thanks for the great pictures...what about carrying on equipment like oxygen?

My guess would be that would not be allowed on any of the thrill rides, like Tower of Terror, California Screamin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Just an FYI, I cannot do Toy Story Mania- if you have poor neck and trunk control, the ride vehicle swings around quickly and w/o warning and just whips you almost out of the seat. If I were you I'd observe first or have someone ride before you give it a try if you think they can gauge how you'll respond.---Kathy
