Help!! Removing Perm marker from cooler

That's why I say go straight for the rubbing alcohol. I have saved clothing with using alcohol. It takes some work, especially on light clothing, but just keep applying, scrubbing and blotting.

Rubbing alcohol may work too but it's a different type of alcohol than the type in hairspray.

Same questio different item, I got it on the drivers seat of my car it is leather, do you think those things might work for that I keep getting it all over my white pants :sad2:

I used an alcohol swab to get sharpie off my leather car seats. Didn't hurt them at all, but you might want to try it on an inconspicuous place first.

aerosol hairspray took it off of my new leather couch, but it was within seconds of it happening, so not sure about marks that have been there a while.

I accidently discovered that if you rub dry erase marker on the spot it will take it off. Some surfaces not as great but works with most :)

anybody know how to get marker stains off of a wooden table(cherry finish)??
DS2 was drawing on a piece of paper and the marker went clear thru the paper...
thanks!

As I was reading your post, I remembered that a child was visiting us and did the same thing! It is a very soft wood table that I love....I am going to try the sunscreen, magic eraser, alcohol!

Off the cooler... I would try nail polish remover.

The cherry table...try toothpaste a white paste like colgate works best. I have a maple coffee table that I got a red ink of some sort of of using the toothpaste. You rub it in & let dry. Then rub it off with papertowel & dust as usual. You may have to use a bit of old English in case some of the finish is removed, but it didn't happen to me. (As when getting a water stain off my dresser I lost some finish)
Good luck!

WD40 got it out of my table as well as off my wall. My 3 year old went nuts in the toy room with a sharpie while mom mom was watching and it took it right off the wall and table.(the table was the most important husband got it from his grandfather before he died)

Honestly I'd consider it an identifying mark and leave it. It's a cooler, who cares if it's got squigles. It'll be a cute story everytime you use it.

Hairspray will take permanent marker off clothing. I spray it on a Q-tip then rub it on the stain, but you can also probably spray it directly on the fabric.

I've found that Sharpie is not all that permanent on plastics like water bottles, so I think it would come off the cooler fairly easily.

Yes, DAB the hairspray on fabrics. You don't want the marker to spread. Then use a lot of paper towels to dab the the marker & hairspray off.

As for on plastics. Once you spray the hairspray, wait a couple seconds, and you will immediately see the marker breakdown into little particles or lift off get all runny. Then just wipe it off. :thumbsup2

Cold black coffee is supposed to work for removing permanment marker from a white board. Maybe it works on other items as well? I don't think I'd try it on fabric but a coffee stain could be better than marker?

Hi All, my DS age 3 decided to color our cooler and used my sharpies to draw all over the top. What can I do to remove it? It's basically squiggles all over in black marker.
Sorry if this is a repeat because I did not take the time to read the reply but nail polish remover should do it. I have removed perm marker marks with nail polish with success.

I would try Soft Scrub with bleach to get marker off a cooler. It works on my countertops when the kids have gotten marker on them.
