We are set to leave for our first trip home to SSR tomorrow night and arrive early am Friday, there's a problem though. There is an 80% chance of rain, no big deal normally, but I am 8 months pregnant and we have a 19 month old as well. Not prime candidates for commando park touring in the rain. So, I would love some advice on what we should do for the day, as we won't be able to check in to our room until afternoon. :confused3 Any ideas or suggestions? TIA

I would check in, then go over to Community Hall if your room is not ready.

Lots of activities, coloring, games, etc to entertain the little one.

Just take a wrap or sweater, it can be chilly in there.

There are also nice seating areas in the Carriage House and a Cartoon area for the kids, so you could stay there also.

The good news is, you are checking into SSR on a Friday, it's slow season, and you will get there early, so most likely your room will be ready.:wizard:

Have a great trip home! We love SSR:love:

Yes, there's a place for you to go!. You mentioned you're
pregnant w/ a toddler...i kept that in mind. You might not
be able to go on some of the rides at "Quest" but, there are
things to see and do.

This is but one answer...I'm sure others will more than
help you out! Good Luck!:goodvibes

the community hall

in the front section they have stuff to entertain your oldest - in the back is a tv with only Disney on it (not the sports stuff that they play at oKW community hall)

of course once your kids see the swimming pool - they don't seem to care if it is raining.

the lifeguard only close the pool when their is lightening in the area - just rain and they don't close them.

so it is just rain or thunderstorm?

I wouldn't advise going to Disney Quest. Most of the attractions there are not suited to a toddler, nor to a 8-months pregnant woman. One parent will spend most of his/her time watching the toddler while the other one does an attraction, and several attractions require multiple players. It's just not a good fit for your group, IMO. (Also, the admission fee is rather high (unless you have it included on your park tickets).)

I'm with those who say go ahead and check in. A unit just might be ready, especially if you aren't picky about where you are located. If your room is not ready then you can head to Community Hall or hang out in one of the lobby seating areas. If the rain isn't bad you could head over to Downtown Disney for lunch.

Have a great trip.

Florida weather reports are notoriously unreliable. The weather could change to sunny by Friday. Also 80% chance does not mean it will rain all day. It just means that there is an 80% chance it will rain at some point on Friday. Again, this could change. You may not have to plan a rainy day activity. Hope it stays sunny for you!

I agree with most of the above, but we are at SSR now and it has been pretty crowded, especially Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. It has seemed to thin out today. Pool was packed on Saturday. Lots going on at Community Hall that your little one would enjoy. Downtown Disney might be good, too. How about the Lego store? Have a great time........
