I am making my first reservation but even though I have paid for disney dining plan all ready asking me for a credit card? Is this standard and just to hold the reservation?

Yes, it is in case you are a no show. They charge $10 per person.

You might want to alert your credit card comapny what you are doing. I have read about people who's card was flagged and locked because suddenly there was a bunch of $1 charges while trying to make all their reservations. I guess the $1 is for validation that the card is valid? Never hurts to let them know of diferent-than-normal goings on!
