help quick-cannot check in online

Have been trying to check in online and amessage just keeps saying "unfortunatley we cannot check you in online please arrive at the airport early enough to do so".I so wanted to book in online so we could just use bag drop but for some reason it won't let us.It always happens to me:mad:
Is it because we have a child?I am just confused as to why it won't let us do it.:confused3
 
Is it Virgin? If so, either try phoning them and asking if there is a problem - or keep trying. When we tried to check in online back in Feb, I kept getting a similar message. Just kept trying and finally, on the 5th or 6th attempt, it worked.

Just an after thought - don't know if this has any effect but have you provide your API details? Maybe that could be the problem as I know this is collected at check in if you haven't already provided it.
 
I read on the Virgin site something about not being able to check in on line if you have a baby I believe because they want you to have the bulkhead seats or something like that.

I cannot check in either. We booked through Thomas Cook Signature so don't have a reference number we can use. Rang my travel agent and they said it is a block travel agent booking so we cannot have a number. I am a bit disappointed about that. My youngest (16) son is worried he will be sat by himself but I am hoping to get at least 2 of us together so the lads can travel together.

The flight has still got economy seats for sale so I am hoping there will be some spare seats to allow us to sit together.

Regarding your reference number, have you tried contacting Virgin Atlantic direct -they should be able to give you your reference so you can pre-book your seats and check in online. Drop me a PM if you need the telephone number.
 

Thanks Joh, that is an idea, surely they will be able to do that. Is it just the helpline number I would ring?

0870 380 2007 is the number you need. Select the option for seat assignments and just keep holding till you get a real live person :rotfl:

Still cannot check in and leaving now for our overnight stay.:confused3 Will have to queue in the PE queue tomorrow.My daughter is nearly 5 so I don't think the bulkhead is an issue.Thanks

Thanks again Joh, it worked. Seats have already been allocated so that is a load of youngest son's mind (provided they don't change them). He can sit next to family, we have a set of 3 seats and one across the aisle.:)
 
Online check in worked, thanks for the suggestion Joh. Just feeling a bit excited now, shortly off to Manchester Airport to relax before the flight tomorrow.:banana: :banana: :banana:
