We will be taking the 3 night cruise in late January, and my question is this: what should I be trying to plan or prepare for *in advance?* I really have no idea, so at this point we were just going to show up on the boat and wing the whole thing.

Any direction that you guys could give me on what kinds of stuff I should be researching or preparing for would be *extremely* welcome!!!

Thanks!

Jon

one thing is to keep watching this board to gather info on excursions and cruise tips.

Also Dave's site has a lot of detailed info for various ports and navigators as does Barb's site. Check those out.

www.dcltribute.com
www.castawayclub.com

Also, I would say check out sample navigators that both have out on their sites so you can get a better feel for what a day is like on the ship, and what kind of activities are available.

Hi Jon, Last year we did a quick 3 day cruise at the last minute. We had no idea what to expect since I never even knew these boards existed. We had a ball, how could you not? But now that I have all this info I know our next trip (Dec. 26) will be even better. I have found so much info from these boards. You must visit Barb and Tony's site at www.castawayclub.com. It's a great place to start. I would suggest that at the least you should figure out which excursions you want to do in Nassau and if you want to book Palo's (adult restaurant - reservations necessary) or spa treatment. The other activities will be listed on the Navigators once you get onboard. Relax....we really tried to jam everything in the last time, and for the most part we were able to do just about everything that interested us!

Depending on when in January you are sailing, you may already be inside the 60-day window prior to your cruise. Once you are within the 60-day window and you have paid the final balance, you can pre-order your shore excursions. This is important to do if you are interested in some of the more popular excursions (such as the Dolphin Encounter at Nassau or parasailing at Castaway Cay).
