Greetings All Seeing & All Knowing Gurus of DVC:

We just became members of DVC back in March 2003 and are planning our first big family trip home to BCV next year, and I have a question about tickets.

Which tickets should I get, and where and what deals should I look for?

We'll be staying for a week, not visiting anywhere else, just WDW. APs are not an options since we'll only be there for a week, so I'm thinking either Length of Stay with 10% DVC discount or Park Hopper Plus (want to go to PI & maybe a water park). Along with DVC Membership, we're Disney Club Members and have Disney Visa (Saving up Reward Points). I understand the differences between the two ticket types and am leaning towards Park Hopper Plus since we may want to take it easy a day or two (traveling with small kids) and save the days for our next visit. I've done some searches, however, I can't figure out which discount off of which price I'm eligible for to figure out which tickets make the most sense for us. DVC gets 10% off of which Length of Stay price? Presale or at the Front Desk? Should I get tickets through Disney Club before it goes the way of the dodo? Actually, I should ask are there any discounts through Disney Club? I'm hesitant to use a ticket broker, but I am willing to listen to suggestions. I know a lot of you get APs but we're using DVC for extended family trips every couple of years, so like I said it's not an option. Anyway, a lot of you seem to really enjoy researching these things and I figured, why not go straight to the knowledge base (hope I'm not laying it on too thick). Thank you in advance for your suggestions. I look forward to being dazzled with your wisdom (hmmm, once again too thick!?!).

If you don't plan on going to the parks everyday, a LOS pass would not be worth it, DVC gets 10% off but not sure if it's bought in advance, and you can drop first or last night have even heard of dropping both if you arrive late and leave early, unused days expire as well. PHP will get you into PI and a water park, Disney club will get you a 10% off, you can buy them at your local Disney Store before prices go up around the first of the year. They were the same price there as advance purchase online. With the 10% discount, don't know how much better you could get thru a broker. So my choice would be the Park Hopper Plus ticket!

I highly recommend Paramount for tickets. We buy the 7 day with 4 plus reatures and a free character breakfast coupon (includes tax & gratuity) for $301 per adult & $245 per child. Unlike LOS, these never expire so we use them from trip to trip. We have lost out on LOS but not going into the park for a day (sick child, so not anticipated). Missing a day makes the cost high. If you miss a day on a park hopper, you use it next time. It does seem to be the best value.

Here's the Paramount link:

Although there is no mention of the breakfast voucher on the site, if you call they tell you it is always included. There is a $15 per order delivery fee.

Enjoy

The 7 day park hopper plus using your disney club discount is about the same price as Paramount if you aren't comfortable with the ticket broker option. With the discount at the Disney Store it is $309.94 for adults and $248.16 for ages 3 - 9. I am planning on buying these for our trip next year soon since the Disney Club is ending at the end of December.

Cheaper deal (Even if you have the Disney Club card, which will expire at the end of this year.) -

$305 for adults, $243 for kids, plus $7 shipping.
This site is mentioned on mousesavers.com which I trust TOTALLY. I've been really trying to figure out our best options and it has coem down to this or us getting an AP, but we'll ahve to plan our trips carefully with the school calender to max it.
Good luck!

Whoa.....Don't rule out APs quite so quickly. They offer some great discounts besides the room codes. Sometimes they are better than DVC discount, sometimes not.

If you return next year one week earlier than this year you get two trips on one pass. APs pay for themselves as tickets alone at eight days. PAPs at 11 days.

Last week I was in one of our local Disney stores and they had APs there for the advance purchase discount.

Does anyoen know then what the advance purchase price is on APs at the Disney Store? I didn't realize they had a dicount for APs anywhere. I think I can get a discount on just the adult AP through my Disney Club card, but that expires at the end of the year (the card). Disney Store gives you a certificate to redeem when you get to WDw? Does the start date begin when you buy it or when you redeem it? Thanks!

Hey Everyone,
Thanks for you help, suggestions and confirming the best plan for me and my family, PHP all around. I'll check out the brokers that everyone suggested and then purchase the tickets. lenshanem, I hope someone posts an answer to your question, I see that you've asked it again on the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board. Anyway, thanks again everyone.

One more question... What is the price of the 7 Day PHP (adult and child) at The Disney Store and does Disney Club get 10% off of that price? Online I see that 7 Day PHP are $329 & $264 for adult and child, respectively, at the gate and $307 and $247 when you purchase in advance online. momsully mentioned that TDS price was $309.94 and $248.16 with 10% discount, this would suggest a retail price of $344.38 and $275.73, is this correct and is there tax that I'm forgetting to enter into my equation? Thanks again for you help.

The 309.94 and 248.16 include tax with the DC discount. The $307 and $247 are before tax when purchasing online.
