Help!! We are going for the first time in September and wanted to stay in the AllStar movies but can't get in with the DC discount. They have the music with the discount.Which is better the music or the sports? I like the pools at music better but which building should I ask for? Please someone help.:bounce: :bounce:

I think I would decide on which theming I like best. Between the two, it would be music, but that's just me.
However, the buses stopped at ASSp first, then Music, then Movies.
At ASSp, you would be closer to McD's too. ;)
If it is any help, I also have the map of the three resorts from when we checked in at ASMo last January. But I am sure someone who has actually stayed at Music or Sports could help you better.
Good luck deciding!

I like Sports because you are the closest to get in and out.

For 5 yr old kids and up I think Sports is the most fun.

The main thing is you are on-site.

Hi,
I have stayed at Music 5 times and loved it each time. i have gotten so that I request the Jazz buildings. They are just past the first pool so they are not too far from the busses or the main building. The Calypso buildings are closer but cost an extra $10.00 per night for that closeness. Some of the buildings are really far away from the bus stops and the main building (Country Fair ar teh fathest.).

I hope this helps.

We've stayed at the Music and Sports and I like the Sports better. But both are equally nice, go with what theme appeals to you more.

We have stayed at Sports and loved it. DD and I were looking at the pictures last night and she remember playing in the pool and all the football equipement.

I think Music has the best theming of the 2 and was much prettier. I am considering this resort as an alternative to offsite or moderate for our next trip.

Have fun!

We've stayed at the Movies and the Music and we all preferred the Music,no question! It was much quieter than Movies(IMO)and everything about it just suited us SOOOO well.

As for deciding between Sports & Music, what does your family like?If they are all into Sports, that may be your best bet.One thing to consider when requesting a room there is that the pools are kind of opposite there than at the other two resorts. The "main" pool at Music & Movies is nearest the food court and has squirty statues. The "main" pool with squirty things at Sports is near the back of the complex!So...if the squirty guys are important to your little ones(they are to mine and they aren't so little either!)than that may make some difference on where you want to be.

This site has a resort map section that will give you a layout of the resorts for building, pool, food court and bus stop information. When we were at the Music we did stay in the Calypso building, but this was before they charged an extra $10 for that particular building.I can't honestly say if I would pay it now or not,but I think I would. It was just so nice not to have to lug back to the other end of the complex at the end of a long day of walking.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

We have stayed at the Music & Sports many times and have found them both enjoyable. On our last 2 visits we stayed at the Sports for the simple reason that the buses pick up & drop off there first. This is really nice at night when the parks close and there are so many people going back to there resorts.

I've stayed at all three, and we like them all. There was a goof up our first trip on property and we were booked at Sports, which we never would have chosen. We found we liked it.

Music was very nice, had Broadway, and loved that it was quiet. This last trip, we snagged Toy Story at movies-it's the first to book, and boy, it was busy (2 weeks post 9/11, even). Rooms are soundproofed well, though.

If you want quiet, Music is the way to go. I'd recommend Broadway or Jazz. Sports-we enjoyed Tennis, it also was peaceful. I don't know about your family, but after all the activity of the day, we didn't want to be right by the "Halls", although we will be this trip. Note to self--CALL the room assignor and request the side AWAY from the pool, lol!

Thank you guys for all the great info.We decided on the music and even asked for the preferred Calyso building.I can't wait!!!!April:Pinkbounc

We like them all (and since we no longer have the kids along it's fun watching the other families there).

If you're at the All Star Music, I agree that the Jazz building is a nice intermediate building to stay at.

My strategy is to stay at the Music so that I can walk to either the Movies or Sports easier. Though most of the All Stars are pretty much the same, I do find the food court at the Movies to be the best of the three and do have a few different choices. It's a pretty easy walk to either, or you can take the bus when coming back from a park to the other one, then walk back to the Music. The walk is about 5 minutes either way. You should continue to try to get ressies at the Movies if you still are interested. Things change all of the time. We originally had ressies for the Music for September, but last month we managed to get into the Movies at a CM discount. Our favorite pool of the All Stars is Piano Pool (Music) or Mighty Ducks (Movies)
