We are leaving on Monday for our trip to WDW!:yay: Well, I was shopping with my almost 3 year old (turns 3 in 2 wks), when we ran into a friend ,and I was telling abut our trip. She said that she thought my daughter looked much older than 2, and that they were going to definately question her at the gates of the parks. I agree that she is tall and Very verbal for her age, but I never thought they might question us. I thought about bringing her birth cert., but I can't find it (horrible, I know:eek: ). Will we be ok? We are also on the DDP, and it never occurred to me that the servers may question us also. Any ideas/ help? TIA:worship:

I don't really think they would question you but I have no experience with taking a child that might look older. Since you can't find her birth cert, maybe ask your pediatrician to write a note on his/her letterhead attesting to the fact that she is 2 and give her birthdate? I don't know if this is convenient for you (or even if you'd have time since you leave Monday) but my ped is right down the road from my house and would certainly do something like this for me. Good luck and have a wonderful trip :)

I would not worry. My sister went with her son who was 2 weeks shy of his 3rd birthday. She was never questioned once and he is a tall kid also.
She always went though the gate with her son and the stroller and no one questioned her. She did have a copy of his birth certificate with her just in case but never needed it.

You should be able to get a copy of the birth cerfiticate at town hall.

I don't think you'll have a problem. If your DD is verbal, she would say she is 2 if asked. They don't require proof of age for kids so young. Just go and have a great time!:)

Don't you just love it when all sorts of people give you all sorts of advice about Disney? She probably has never been to WDW!! Anyway, don't worry about it, you will be fine. They don't question this, it is up to the parent to buy the ticket if she is older than 3. They don't have time to look at each child's birth certificate as they enter the gates!!

My 2 year old was very tall as well. Only one time did a CM ask for her ticket and I said "She is 2" and that was it, in she went. They also asked me at Sea World how old she was and I said 2, and in she went. They didn't ask me to prove it.

My dd is just like yours... 2 and talks ALOT... and she knows everything about everything.. she is tall like her dad.. I was worried too because most people think she is 3 or 4 but I had no problems at all. Once someone asked at a meal- i said she was 2 and that was it. Dont worry....you will be fine!

Don't worry about it at all. When we took my VERY tall and VERY verbal almost 3 year old, there was only one time when I felt like we got a second look and that was going through the turnstiles at the entrance. The person letting us is waited half a beat and looked at our dd and when we didn't say or do anything, let us pass without a word.

Fast forward to last year and our almost 9 year was about 5 ft tall! Again, no one said a word, although we did have to correct lots of servers who tried to use an adult credit for her. No one argued or looked at all disbelieving when we corrected them though.

Go and have fun :thumbsup2

If you have been there with your child, Disney has her age on file, so that may help? I wouldn't lose any sleep over it if you can't find the birth cert. We leave Monday too...yeah!

HEY! We leave on Monday too!!!! Where are you staying??
As for your question, the first time we went, dd was 32 months and was very tall and we were never questioned.

Have a great trip!

I was actually on the phone today with Disney booking a meal and I asked the CM if that was going to be a problem for us - our DD will be turning 3 right after our trip. She said that it wouldn't be a problem and told me not to worry about it. We are actually celebrating her 3rd birthday while we're there. I told her that I felt weird celebrating her 3rd birthday at a meal and then not paying for her. She said it happens all the time. No fear, HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!

Thanks everyone for your replies!:grouphug:

I feel much better now, and am sooooooo looking forward to this trip! We are staying at OKW in a 2br~~I think it may be the best trip yet!:dance3:
