HELP - Printing Boarding Passes on Upcoming Trip

I posted this on the Transportation Boards also.

We are flying to LAX on Southwest with 3 children, ages 5, 5, 10 and told we cannot pre-board since our twins are older than 4, but in order to get seats together we would want to print our boarding passes 24 hours before to get a A pass - so we would board first after the pre-boarders.

However, we plan to be at Legoland at the time we can print our passes and we won't return to the hotel until later in the evening. Does anyone know if there is a computer/business office place that we could print our boarding pass at Legoland? If we wait until we get back to the hotel, chances are we'll get a C pass and our children won't be seated by us (and that would not be a good situation).

I could switch days and plan to be at DL instead, but I would have to change the dates of our rental car. If I would do that, is there a place in Disneyland that one could access the internet and print our passes?

Please help me with this situation. My children and (me) will not do good on a flight separated from each other. Just curious, if I tried to pre-board with my twins would the airlines allow me to? The twins turn 5 only 3 months before our trip. It doesn't matter if the 5 of us sit together or not, I just need to make sure that 2 of my children sit by me and 1 sits with my dh.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Can you let me know the exact day you need this done. I have a friend who works at Legoland and I will ask her for ideas.

I woudn't worry too much, my experience on flights with kids is that passengers are happy to move around to accomdate kids. Chances are they don't want to sit next to an unhappy 5 year old either.

Thanks for your replies.

Tink33 - We'll be at Legoland on May 29 and fly out May 30.

abby- My dh tells me not to worry, too, but unfortunately, I am a worrier, especially when it comes to my children.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just go up and pre board with the 2 kids. Don't say a thing about the ages and let DH and the 10 yr. old board with the group. ALaso most people move and if not I have had an instance then the flt. attendant told people to move or else they were taking care of the persons kid...

I'm not telling you not to worry, but I had to go to Texas several times last year, and everytime I printed out the boarding pass I was in the A group. Many times I printed out the pass at midnight before my 3pm flight, and a couple of times I printed out the pass in the morning before leaving, and everytime I got "A".

Many people print out their passes at home, but I think even more get the passes when they arrive at the airport, or even at the gate. You might be able to print out your pass when you arrive back at your hotel and still be ahead of most people.

Ok heres what you need to do

Get a friend or family member or someone here on the DIS.

Give them your confirmation # and have them do it for you 24 hrs. and just don't print the tickets. It has that option and this checks you in for the A's.

Then when you check your bags tell them to print your passes for you and you're all set.

I have also printed out my passes hours after the 24 hour time frame and have been in the A's and that was during thanksgiving. I have seen people pre board with older kids then yours and they were let on to the plane before the letter boarding. I wouldn't worry too much and it's true people will generally move so you can sit with your kids. Most times the front gets filled up and the back is empty until well into the B's anywayse.

We flew SWA on our most recent trip to WDW.

On the way down, we printed our boarding passes out at home right at 1 minute past midnight...and were "A"s.

But coming home, since we were AT DisneyWorld and had no access to computers, we didn't get our boarding passes until we arrived at the airport....and were "C"s.

There were 4 of us: me, dh, dd9, dd6.

By the time we got on the plane my DH and DD6 couldn't find a seat together. While they were just standing in the aisle thinking about what to do next ~ before they even said or did anything ~ the stewardess swooped in on her own and asked a gentlemen next to an empty seat if he would move so they could sit together. The whole scenario took maybe 2 minutes, tops.

They were very accommodating and very aware of the needs of families on our plane.

Thanks for all your suggestions and help. What I've decided to do is to change our schedule so that we are at CA the day before we leave so that my dh can go back to the hotel and print our boarding passes as soon as possible.

Last year we flew SW to WDW and printed at the airport and had C passes (not a big deal since we were allowed to pre-board with our twins). But by the time the C section was boarding, only single seats here and there were left. I know that they would arrange for us to sit together, but having A passes just makes it much simplier. I feel better knowing that they are very accomodating to families (now I won't worry so much!!). Thank you!! :thumbsup2
