Hello Everyone  !

I need some help deciding where to stay during our next trip. I currently have ressies for Pop Century, but now that the AP rates came out, I want to upgrade to a Moderate.

I'm torn between CSR and POFQ.

I'll be traveling with DD7 & DS9, so the pool is a big factor and both places look like they have great pools. But CSR also looks like it has a great playground.

Both places look like they have good Food Courts (I will be using Q&C vouchers) and good theming, however I'm more drawn to the POFQ Mardi Gras theme.

CSR looks really spread out (which is why I don't like POR & CBR), but POFQ shares it's buses with with POR. I'm real concerned with the buses at both resorts.

Anyone who has stayed at CSR or POFQ have any input to help my decision.

Or should I just stay with my original plan of POP where I've heard they have horrible parking & pools with no slides. But at least they only have 1 bus stop.

I really appreciate any input!

Thanks!

I hear Pop is nice but haven't stayed there yet. If you want a pool slide for your kids then you will have to go with a moderate. As for which one, well you'll truly have to make that decision.

I suggest that you take a look at the pics on this site and the one's on Deb's site wdwig.com for both POFQ and CSR. POFQ is a very nice resort (finished rehab) and is of course the only compact moderate there is. Basically any room you stay in in FQ is only a 5 minute walk to the pool or main building. Very easy to move around. However, there is only the one pool for the entire resort (from what I understand, you can use the pools at PORS but would have to take a bus, boat or do the 10 minute walk over to the property. There is the food court but no sitdown restaurant (you'll have to go to Riverside for the sitdown rest). Personally, I love the whole PO complex area as you have the 3 distinct areas (FQ, Bayou homes and Mansions) and they are all serene with beautiful garden areas. Very nice to walk around. I believe the playground area is nice but your kids may prefer the fort playground at PORS. As for the buses, your the first stop, you get the seats first. RS will fill the buses up but it won't take very long to get to the parks.

Now for CSR, I haven't stayed here but have toured the resort and really love the grounds (not crazy with the way the rooms look, but the resort is lovely). Unfortunately, the resort is very spread out (reminds me of a mini World Showcase area). The pool area looks fabulous and so does the kids play area. However, for quick access to the main pool, you would have to stay in the Ranchos section which is a nice walk to the main buildings (10 minutes). I believe there is a bus that will take you around the property (believe I read this someplace, I personally walked the property and it did take me some time to do this). You also have the convention people to deal with. Pepper Market rest. is also set up a slight bit different but you can use your food vouchers there for a good bargain. I have to admit that the grounds are beautiful here as well. If your up for the walk then I would say that your kids will love the pool/playarea here probably more than at FQ.

Good luck in making your decision, in the end both moderates are very nice.

I've stayed at CSR twice and really enjoyed it. The busses run fairly regularly and since many people who stay there are part of a convention, they don't ride the busses to the parks in the morning since they have meetings during the day.

If you stay in the Cabanas section, in particular buildings 9A or 9B, you're fairly close to the check-in desk, Pepper Market, the bus stop near the check-in desk, and the Pool/play ground. My family enjoyed the theming, the large pyramid and pool area, and play area.

The rooms should also be a bit larger than Pop Century. We've stayed in ASMovies and sometimes we felt a little crowded, especially as we bought souvenirs throughout the week.

It all depends on what theme attracts you more. Look at the pics as a previous poster suggested.

I have stayed at CSR and am a HUGE FAN. Busses are quick and empty. The grounds are lovely and the Pepper Market is very good. I suggested it to many people and they all loved it!

I also was into the Mexican Theme - the Pool was really cool!

Thanks everyone for the input!!

I had decided on POFQ, but by the time I called they sold out of the AP rates.

So I've decided to go with CSR.

Thanks for all the help!

If the pool is important to you and your kids, then you made the right decision with CSR. My kids (ages 6 & 9) like the look of the CSR pool and especially the slide. They think the slides at all the other moderate pools look too small so we are gonna try CSR next trip!
