P.S. Those cheerleaders are horrible. I ran into the rudest, loudest, foulmouthed girls during my last trip. The coach had them practicing outside of our room in full voices too. Ugh! I don't remember being like that when I was their age (and a cheerleader). Boy, have times changed and I'm not even that old (30). LOL:cheer2:

just not that into seeing this all over.
.

the OP does not know if they'll be bothered. That's why the thread exists. Wouldn't you rather educate than discourage? I'm betting OP will not be bothered.

Really? Sounds like they don't want to see us all over. :confused3

I was just saying we are there, everyday. We are your neighbor, postman, salesperson, clergy and teachers.

"Nice rainbow ticker. "

I am reading through this wondering why the OP would even ask. Then this comment just made me laugh.:rotfl::rotfl:

I have been to WDW the past two years during Gay Week. It is just when it was most convenient for me to go and take my kids. Background, if it helps. I am heterosexual but have friends that are gay. My kids know my friends, so this wasn't completely new to them. The parks were a bit busier I guess. I never saw anyone making out, so it isn't like it was obvious. Ok, except for the MK daytime parade and all of the rainbow pins being worn...
If you do not want your kids to maybe see this, then I wouldn't go during this period. Maybe you should reconsider going at all. There are always gay people there I am sure. Please do not see this as a flame. Disney World probably attracts more homosexual visitors than maybe... Six Flags in Dallas for instance. These wonderfully nice, completely normal people are going to be there at all times.

And I wasn't into seeing cheering girls in queue at the parks. Big deal. The OP could have worded the question more tactfully, we can at least agree there. But it still does not warrant some of the responses here.

I live and work downtown in a large city. I'm exposed (and for the most part tolerant of) almost everything. Others who are not get to see television portrayals of gay people in bars, behaving lewdly, etc. It is perfectly fair to ask if gay days are a family friendly environment. This is an opportunity to let someone know that not all gay folks are the Village People or Andy Dick.

In short, do not change your dates. You'll be fine.

I'll give you the Biker and the Construction worker, maybe the Naval Officer (don't ask and he probably won't tell) but not the Indian Chief!

Lastly, Andy Dick is Gay? :rotfl::rotfl2:

This does not equal us.

If someone shouldn't go ever because "you" are there, then they shouldn't live in a neighborhood, receive mail, go to church or school either by that logic? Instead of attempting to help reverse this perceived phobia you are just pulling in the opposite direction. Try to get along.

Forget being biased against homosexuality, I see A LOT of posters who are biased against the OP's beliefs. There are many people in this country who are against homosexuality for religious reasons. I'm not saying I agree with it, just that it's a fact. If the OP wants some information about whether or not she would be exposing her children to something against her beliefs by going on that week, it is a valid question for her to ask. While it is true that homosexual people are a part of everyday life and at WDW everyday, there IS a difference in going that week when homosexuality is celebrated en masse.
To the OP: I went that week this past year and didn't see anything I wouldn't want to discuss with my kids yet. I found the red shirt wearers to be very friendly and fun to talk to in lines.

:thumbsup2 Nicely stated!

My dh and I went in 08 during gay days...it wasn't really bad until some of them started actually HITTING on my hubby at the bars! lol! :lmao: DHS was crazy busy by the way!!:scared1:

PS - I love everyone here as we are all united in our love for the mouse. Let's sing.

I see what everyone is saying here but if someone could explain what they think this part of the OP meant then I will shut up. :lmao: I have my ideas of what that means but apparently I am wrong.

"just not that into seeing this all over".

That is my point, we should try to get along. So why start by making a divide because you "don't want to see us all over"? We are already all over. Gay Days is just like any other day except we wear red that day.

It is infuriating that people assume that by default being gay means you think about sex 24/7 and engage in activity in public all the time. We are just like anyone else with one exception. I wish that my only worry were that my children might see some affection instead my worry fits right with the anniversary of Matthew Shepard's death.

I would like to add a positive off topic post on this thread:

dalt01, your dog in your signature is ADORABLE! Is it a Bichon? :goodvibes

I'm not sure what the OP is referring to here either...maybe OP has a perception that they act like girls gone wild or something! I'm not sure...

Where is the OP, maybe she could clarify for us??

Once again, the OP did NOT say "us". You have applied that yourself. By "it" I can only assume PDA is meant, which you address here. Help someone get over these feelings instead of letting yourself become infuriated.

In my country the color for gays is pink.
We have the yearly Pink Parade in the capital city and even members of the government are on the floats that go through the whole city. It's a wonderful and miraculous day and hundred thousands of non gays and gays have a big party together.
I would love to show you some pictures but I will surely be banned from the site if I did.;)

Since I am not the only one that read this as insensitive , please enlighten me as to what the op intended then.

The OP asked a perfectly acceptable and legitimate question. Some people take offense to everything to try to promote their agenda. Give the OP a break if she is worried about having to explain to her kids why two men or two women are kissing in public. I don't want to explain that to my kids either.

Sorry no agenda. Just a perfectly acceptable way to live. Had they asked about crowd level that may have been different.
