Hi Dis-friends. My cousin is attempting to bring her grandson to disney in June (18-23) on a very tight budget. She needs a hotel with a good shuttle including a shuttle from the airport (she can't rent a car). She and he have never been. She is trying to fly from MA, go the parks for 4 days, eat, etc. for $1000. Is it even possible? I went during the off season and prices were drastically lower. I have been plugging in different options and not coming up with much so I am bringing it to the WDW experts for help.:confused:

Thanks in advance for your help. BTW the grandson is 8 or 9.

I don't think she'll be able to do it. Airfare is $250 each which eats up half of her budget. Park passes are $427 ($230 per adult and $197 per child 9 and under on Undercover Tourist) which each which eats up the other half. Not to mention that I don't think there are any hotels that offer both shuttles from the airport *and* to the parks. Mears would be another $70 roundtrip. So, she doesn't have anything left for hotel or food.

She would probably be able to score something cheap on Priceline or Hotwire but you can really never be 100% sure of which hotel you get and if it has a shuttle.

Thanks for responding. I hate to admit it but I don't think she'll be able to swing it either:sad2: If it was off season and she could rent a car she could probably do a reasonable trip for $1500 but even that will be tight. I am going to invite her to come to Houston for a visit. While not disney by any stretch :rotfl::rotfl: we do have lots of fun stuff and she won't have to do a hotel. We'll see what she says...of course she could save and double her money for next year and be ready to go! Anyhoo, thanks for responding and we'll see what she says.

I did look on Hotwire for her dates and there is a 2.5* for only $25 which is probably the Best Western Lakeside. It gets good reviews on TripAdvisor and has a shuttle to the parks. She may have to pay an additional resort fee though.

This is the one time I would say it's better to be onsite ... with free airport shuttles and park transportation.

To stay at a value for 5 nights at that time is $119/night. There is a promotion right now for 15% off room rates during that time. That brings the cost down to $102/night.

She may want to do some number crunching on the packages as well since Disney is offering "kids for free."

...if she can manage to wait until August, she can get all kinds of better deals. :)
