Help Please...Need to Reschedule Dec. Trip

Due to some unforeseen circumstances we need to reschedule our Dec. 3 - 13 trip to the YC. . We are looking into the possibility of going in either Jan/Feb or March/April. We are accustomed to going in "low" season with manageable crowds (and $$). Weather is only a concern in that due to health issues I can not walk around for very long when it is very hot (that is why summer is out for us).

I am looking for possible advice on crowds and "magic" (no osborne lights or MVMCP, CP... ).

We are considering a split stay between the YC and AKL. There are 5 of us - me, DH, DS14, DD8 and DD6.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

If you are looking for low crowd levels in those time frames, I would recommend the last two weeks of January, first two weeks of February, last week of February, or the first week of March. After the first week of March you reach prime Spring Break/Easter vacation season.

I second the nominations of the last week of January into early February as well as the first week of March. We've been both times and the last week of January was great - a bit chilly but definitely, almost empty. I would return then in an instant! The first week of March was busier but very nice and the weather was perfect! Overall, even though the end of January has no special events to "draw" you, the feeling of having a park almost to yourself may be very rewarding.

Thanks so much for the replies so far! Being from New England we don't mind the "Florida Cold"! We will definitely miss the Christmas atmosphere but I am just hoping that we can go! We go every two years and it is something that we all look forward to and plan together.

I may be wrong, but I believe with the conversion of the deluxe rooms to villas, that the rooms at AKL may only accomodate 4 people. That is, unless you are staying in a Villa. So you may want to check that out.

I was not aware that the AKL was planning on getting rid of the deluxe (bunk bed) rooms! If that is the case I guess we will be doing an all YC stay!

I'll add my vote to the Jan./Feb. option...we went the first week of Feb. this year (and have been the last week of Jan. too) and there are low crowds. The weather was iffy both times, chilly and damp a couple of days, but if you don't mind that, I'd be happy that the crowds weren't awful (as bad as they might be in Mar./April!).
