HELP! Please! HELP!

My mum is supposed to be on a BA flight from Heathrow to JFK right now. I just checked and the flight has been cancelled.

Can someone put on the news and let me know if there is a problem at Heathrow?

The headlines are all about massive delays at the airport, so don`t worry there hasn`t been an incident.
I think flights are being cancelled because of these long delays - hope your mum gets a flight soon.

The boss of BA has just been on the news blaming Heathrow airport for a lot of the cancellations

Thanks everyone, after a 1/2 hour on hold I got through to BA and they said there has not been and incident and that it taking and hour to an hour and a half for anyone to get through security so people are missing thier flights to all over.

I have calmed my father down (he is 73 with a heart condition and has had two strokes already ~ poor thing is really upset) and we are just waiting for a phone call from my Mum to see what she is doing. My Aunt and Uncle live in Essex and they are not home so we are assuming that they are with Mum at the airport or maybe bringing her back to their house for the night.

My Dad just heard from my Mum, she said she was at Heathrow for 5 hours, most of the time spent on the roof because there are just too many people there. I am not sure but I think she was kidding about the roof. She is staying with my Aunt and Uncle (her sister) and I don't think she is too upset about it! She doesn't get to spend enough time with them so I am actually kind of glad that she is being "forced" to stay for a while! She expects to get home sometime maybe Wednesday or Thursday.
