Help Please for Memories ceremony

Hey guys

A few of you may have seen from other threads that i was planning to propose to my boyfriend at WDW this September as part of our 3 week trip.

To my total utter surprise, my boyfriend has now suggested that we get married at WDW went we go instead. OMG

Can a UK gay couple get married at WDW, is there laws or anything?

It would just be the two of us, so do i just pay for a 'memories' ceremony?

I don't know where to start

Yes a UK couple can get married in the US. I would see what is required for your marriage to be recognized in the UK if you do it in the US or you can always have the ceremony in WDW but go the court house route when you go home to make it official.

I've heard it can be hard to get your FL marriage liscense if you are out of the country but since you are in for 3 weeks it should be easier.

Congratulations! !! My only suggestion with getting married in wdw is make sure 100% that your passports or what ever paperwork (drivers license) is up to date. That is the biggest problem people face when they go to the courthouse is something is expired! Biggest uh oh ever. Congratulations and Good luck!!

Congratulations! !! My only suggestion with getting married in wdw is make sure 100% that your passports or what ever paperwork (drivers license) is up to date. That is the biggest problem people face when they go to the courthouse is something is expired! Biggest uh oh ever. Congratulations and Good luck!!

You don't get into the USA if there's less than 6 months on the passport...so it's not gonna be expired if you've made it as far as the USA courthouse....

I'd highly recommend licensetowedllc if you don't want the hassle of going to the courthouse. They can pre order the license and deliver it to you at the resort and even help out after the wedding depending how early in your trip you are having the wedding.

Not true your passport only needs to be valid for the length of your stay, the law changed about 7 years ago.

AUSTRALIANS MUST HAVE 6 MONTHS on their passport to arrive in the USA. This is current law. Given how many international flights I make a year I'm well aware of my passports requirements

In either case...I was pointing out your passport is valid for the trip so should be "in date" for use at the court house.
Given anything can go wrong travelling on a soon to expire passport is NEVER wise...just like travelling with "just enough" medication...

I read that link you posted. It is written as an advisory, not as a law. Entry to the USA is dependent on the US laws of entry, not on the Australian laws. Having said that, I guess some airlines can insist on having 6 months left on your passport in order to allow you to board the plane - that's how it used to work in the UK.

Seems like this is going to actually happen. My boyfriend is really keen on the idea after looking at pictures online.

For me i'm surprised how few videos i can find of other people 'memories' ceremony so i can get an idea of what to expect. His biggest worry is that it will all be over and done with in the space of an hour or two

Currently I'm liking the conch key location at the GF.

Is it possible to pay a bit extra and get a character or two at the ceremony like Mickey and Minnie?

Already I'm thinking like a 1pm or 3pm wedding ceremony. Dinner at maybe California Grill (or even Victoria & Alberts) and wishes firework cruise

I'm not sure if you can with Memories....you can with Escape and this is the cost....it's 30 mins. But you HAVE to check if you can get it for Memories. If it isn't listed on the website it might only be for Escape and Wishes...



And yes....especially Memories....it will be over very quickly.

My Escape Ceremony is only 2 hours with the Cake and Celebration followed by a Portrait session around the Grand Floridian grounds. We are having dinner at Victoria and Alberts that night just the two of us. If you choose Victoria and Alberts just do Victoria and Alberts as you won't fully appreciate and enjoy it if you try and squeeze in even just watching the fireworks after plus you'll be STUFFED with food and have no room for a dessert party. You can't do both

Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings will not let you add entertainment, including characters, to a Memories event. You might want to do your meal at a character restaurant if that's important to you. Otherwise, you could plan a private Disney Catered Event with characters, but it would have to be indoors, not at, say, one of the Epcot IllumiNations viewing patios.

Didn't realise the characters would have cost that much anyway and my budget is no where near that.

I'm already at WDW on the dining plan so I think booking a posh meal would be a good idea. I'm just trying to think how I can fill out the day. Maybe an early morning spa treatment or something

Victoria and Alberts is not part of the Dining plan. It is a dining experience of about 4 hours which you'll begin with a seating around 5-6:30pm. There is one seating per night.
The price for the Main Dining Room is $185 + tax or $235 + tax (as you can get the 7 or 10 course)
The Queen Victoria Room is $235 + tax
The Chefs Table is $250 + tax
Wine Parings are $105 or $150 per person.
Then there's the gratuity.

If you are wanting something signature on the dining plan (so 2 credits) Artists Point is lovely. California Grill will give you the fireworks.

I haven't used him but I emailed him and he sent me prices right away. He seems reasonable!
