Help Please - Don't laugh!!

Okay - so my minivan has been INVADED by little black nats. I do have 2 little boys but I can't find ANY food or stuff left behind by them. About 2 weeks ago, I completely pulled all the car seats out...took out every morsel of food and vacuumed the whole thing....THEY ARE BACK!!! Not just a little - we're talking dozens of these things. What is really odd...they crawl around in the back and every so often you will see a black dot on the ceiling ---- and when you try to see if it is alive - they are ALWAYS dead.

Can anyone suggest some way to get rid of these things? I told DH he would have to take the minivan in for detailing, but I'm not even sure that will get rid of them.

PLEASE help!!!! I'm feeling so itchy every time I have to drive. And it is gross!!

Ohhhh!!! If that happened to me, I'd be switching cars with DH until the things were gone!!!

So sorry this happened to you. I hate bugs!! (and I don't have any suggestions for you).

Thanks. I thought my vacuuming fixed the problem. I was so wrong. The problem is - my car so desperately needs some detailing - like with a power washer on the whole interior - but I'm actually too embarassed to have our car guy see the state of my mini van. And it wasn't even me who made the messes. It was the running-to-baseball-running-to-soccer-running-to-taekwondo chow downs in the backseat that must have gotten so messy.

sounds like fruit flies.......spilled juice or something sweet will do that.....

Oh man! I don't have any advice, but I do have sympathy!! My boys wouldnt' even ride in the car if it had bugs in it so I would be in trou-ouble if that happened to me.

Do you have a good local car wash? Maybe they would have some ideas. Otherwise, yeah, the detailing sounds like your best bet. Good luck!

Can you buy a bug bomb for cars? Maybe call an exterminator and see if there is a spray you can use

Do you have an air freshener in the car? Fruit flies and gnats are attracted to the scent of vanilla and fruit, so if you have a fruity or floral air freshener, get rid of it!

Hmmm - I have started using an air freshner...I do have 2 boys afterall!! And sometimes....well, its amazing how they stink?!!

Okay- thanks. I did spray a whole bunch of bug spray in the car last night. Then I dreamed that on my way to work, the car was so toxic that I had to be hospitalized.

Well, this AM, on the way to work - I kept watching for odd side effects. Other than the normal twitching I get every morning as I drive to work...nothing.

I also didn't see much sign of those critters. We'll see if they're gone for good.
