We (me, DH and DS-9) will be in WDW in July. I have ADR for CP for 6 p.m. but now I'm not sure if I should try to change it to CRT instead. :confused3

Here's my dilema: Since my son is 9, he will not be at all interested in either characters, but I'm interested in atmosphere. I've seen photo's of CRT and it looks really pretty, but haven't seen photo's of CP and read that it's lovely. What are your opinions on these? How's the food and selection?

CRT is changing in February to a character meal, but not all the princesses like at breakfast and lunch, I think it's just Fairy Godmother and Cinderella in the lobby I believe. I would check out the menu on AllEars or here on the DIS. I think you will find CP better for choices of food. I have eaten there 3 times and not been disappointed once with lunch or dinner.

Go to CP- CRT is highly overrated and since your son could care less, you will have a much better time at CP.

Tough Call. Character wise, your 9 year old probably is Princesses, yuck. Pooh, that's for little kids...

The CP is like a big conservatory. Wonderful place to eat.
To be honest, We liked the food better at CP. It was more to temperature and we could pick what we wanted out of a nice variety. But there's just something about eating in the castle. You have to do it once. The castle is a harder ressie to get due to size restrictions. And the food wasn't bad, we just liked the food at the cp better. Put it this way, taking the food only into account, dinner at CP was in the top half of our favorite meals at WDW. CRT, though good, was next to last. We loved Chef Mickeys too. It's over in the contemporary but it's character set may appeal to a 9 year old. It's in the concourse so you can see the monorail. It's not up to the CP or CRT ambience wise but it's a fun time too. We had lunch at CRT and Dinner and Breakfast at CP just to give you an idea where we are coming from.

CRT is fixed plate(or is it still menu?) either way, CP is buffet. It all depends on what you guys would enjoy more :goodvibes
