Help please, any night owls on tonight?! Questions about booking our trip tomorrow!!

Hello! Tomorrow we are booking our trip and I am trying to figure out if it's a better to do it through AAA or the Disney website. I've been meaning to post here for weeks and of course waited until the last minute!! Our daughter will be 2, and she's only excited about Mickey Mouse. I'd love to do the ToonTown Morning Madness, which I think is only available if you book through Disney? Is that correct? And is that 1 hour worth it? I usually skip ToonTown, haven't been there since they first opened, but I know she will love that place the best!! Also, how can I see which days it is offered? The calendar doesn't seem to be updated for January yet.

We are planning to be there Monday January 23rd and Tuesday January 24th. One day in DL, one in DCA. I'm not interested in the park hopper because she's too slow to make use of that. Will the TTMM be offered for one of those days?

Will World of Color be happening during the week, or not because it's low season and DCA closes so early?

Another question- I've never done character dining before, and want to do the Minnie & Friends breakfast. I know the reservation should be made in advance, I will call them tomorrow. Is it better to pay for that now, if booking through Disney? Or should I uncheck that optional box, make the reservation, and then pay there with my AAA 10% off discount? How long does the breakfast usually last?

I think that AAA uses WDTC for their bookings. I know Costco does. So, if that is the case, then you will get the reserved seatings for the shows like Aladin and Toontown Morning Madness.
We book through Costco and got all of it. I believe it will be the same for you through AAA. Just depends on the price and other perks you get from AAA.

MTTMM is on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

World of Color has been scheduled everyday since it began.

I would certainly do the Minnie and Friends breakfast, but pay when there. It's cheaper that prepaying anway plus you will get your AAA discount too. Do it early as you can on Monday, which will be 50 minutes before the park opens.\, so you don't miss park time. Breakfast time varies because of the character meetings. 45-75 minutes. It can be hard to get kids to eat when the characters are around. Do see my note about 2yo and characters below.


I would hop. Here is why, you can only do MTTMM on Monday, and Morning Magic on Tuesday. It's not hard and DD will enjoy rides in both parks.

Is MTTMM worth it to pay for a package that may cost more than a la carte pricing? Maybe not, a 2yo may be scared of characters. That is a real risk. Also on slow days the wait to see Mickey and Minnie may not be bad later in the day.

I'd go on Disney web site tonight and price it there and go to Costco web site and price it there and then tomorrow when you call AAA you will know which is the best deal, and also price it out individually. Sometimes they really vary, sometimes they don't.

With the Costco package you get one character meal per person included and a $20 gift card, so that is a plus.

I agree, I'd park hop both days, it's so easy to do, even with a 2 year old. It's well worth it.

Agree with all the posters above.

- Character Bfast when the park is closed.
- Park hop each day.
- Early Toon Town might not be worth talking about during non-busy times.

Late January....I doubt it. It would be way down on my list of important items. TT will be there w/o the crowds.

Typical WDW mindset. Park Hop each day. AND WHY ONLY TWO DAYS. YOU WANT THREE DAYS FOR DLR (SUNDAY FIREWORKS??) 3 DAY PH IS 2 BILLS FOR ADULTS!!

Where you staying?? If off-site....then another reason to get a 3 day hopper. Plus you're from the east coast....easy to get up early (go on Sunday as well!)

You want to do WOC, a character meal AND tour Walt's park & DCA....in two days??? (with a 2 year old?). Book another night, tour 3 days & parkhop each day. See this thread:

I'd research a little more, tell us if you're staying on site......plan on 3 days minimum.....& have a great time planning a visit to Walt's Park.

Park hours will likely be 10-8. A very short time to see each park. Remember DLR has almost as many rides in 2 parks as WDWs 4 parks. I agree get a third day if you can.

You can't make dining reservations until 2 months out so you have a few weeks until you can call.

Oops, I lived in NY briefly, looks like I never updated my location.;-) I live in California, we go to Disneyland every year. Definitely not a WDW vet, only been there twice!

We only want two days because this isn't a "get to know DL" trip. Hence the not wanting to park hop. We would rather take our time and devote the whole day to each park. When we went last May we had park hoppers and never used it, so for us, and for this trip, I know it won't be worth it. Without DD and my mom who won't go on any rides, DW and I would most certainly park hop! This will be a slower visit. We've been there, done that, and only want to experience it all from a 2 year olds perspective.

I'm not sure yet if we are choosing the Portofino Inn & Suites (out favorite off site hotel) or Paradise Pier. I've never stayed in a Disneyland hotel, and with the winter rate its saying we can stay there for only $70 more, and that would include the MTTMM. So that's what sparked my question.

Sorry i "assumed" Katyblue.

SO MANY WDW vets post thinking DLR is a one or two day experience. You obviously are a DLR vet.....but WDW vets (who are DLR noobs) don't realize that it takes less time to walk from DL to DCA....than it does to walk from Kali River Rapids to the Lion King Show (at AK).

& they don't realize that DLR has as many attractions as WDW. Definitely a 4-5 day experience for the ONE time every 10 year visitor. (unless they're a commando & can power thru in 3 days.)
