Help!!! Planning for our very FIRST trip in late JULY!

I am planning our very FIRST trip to DW in late July!!!! I can't wait! It will be me, DM, DD who is 5, and DB who is 10. We are staying at the Poly for 5 nights, we wanted it to be extra special since it's our first trip and all I need some help though on what would be extra fun for DD and DB. What are some "must do" things? Im starting to feel a little overwhelmed!! I have made reservations for dining already. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure you ride the monorail around the whole loop. It is a ride in itself! Ask to sit up front. It may take a bit of waiting but it is fun!

Any special characters you want to see? That may help decide meals. If you haven't done your meals yet, do it soon! A lot will be booked up.

Have you thought about Bippity Boppity Boutique for your DD? That may be nice..
Not sure about the 10 yo..i have all girls..lol
I agree with riding in front of the monorail..my girls love doing this ..
Don't miss Wishes..its great, and try to see Fantasmic
Toontown opens at 10 am..get there early if your DD wants to see the Princess', the line to see them gets crazy...
I would make sure to bring Ponchos with you, and make sure to get to the parks as early as you can...get as much done in the early mornings, before it gets too hot and crowded.
Most of all have a great time, don't stress about heat or crowds...if you are tired go back to the resort and take a nap or hang in the A/C..then head back out later in the day..we do this everyday around lunch time.

My guys were 9 and 4 when we just went and DS9's only request was to ride all the thrill rides and to see the fireworks but he did love the charcater meals. I wasnt sure at this age. DS4 was all about the character meals. So yes figure out who they would like to see and then try and book soon. You defineitely need reservations

ETA: since you are staying at the Poly what about the Luau or Chef Mickey at CR. Your dd might like Park Fare for the princesses. You will LOVE being on the monorail too!
