HELP...planning first trip to DL

We are WDW and DCL pro's but this will be our first trip to DL. Looking to fly to LAX and spend three or four days. Any advise would be helpful. Need transfer information (do not think we want to rent a car), Hotel ideas, touring tips...basically everything.

Tips:

1.) Not necessary to stay @ DL Hotels. Neighborhood hotels are a very close distance to park..Walking distance unlike WDW. You will save approx: $200 a night if you stay @ a neighborhood hotel.

2.) Go to DL in the morning, rest during afternoon, go back @ night.

3.) Be open minded, WDW is alot more bigger than DL so don't overreact and say this place is small. I'm pretty sure that Epcot is bigger than DL and CA combined. Theirs "gold" in both parks, just be open minded.

4.) Make reservations, months in advance.

5.) Plan out your day, and do not be hasty. Also do not force your kids, to do rides...It's very awkward to see a crying baby go into the seat of a rollercoaster. It is also crazy to see children dead tired being pushed around (not stroller kind) at 11pm. (This is coming from a 23 year old Male, not a parent)

Also my top2 Neighbor hotels.....

1.) Hotel Menage: it get's mixed reviews, but I actually liked it.

2.) Embassy Suites South: Great buffet breakfast.
