We're going Easter week with the millions of other people (park opens at 8am the day we'll go), and I'm not quite sure how to handle planning for that day, b/c this is the first year we sort of want to do it all. Here is the plan now:

Ride and grab FP for Everest
FP for Safari
Dinoland to ride PW
get in line for Nemo at 10:30?
have DH go grab FP for Kali while we're in line?
Lunch
It's Tough to be a Bug
Lion King for 1:30 show
Do our FP rides and trails

I know that's a lot of running for DH to get FP, and we'll need to see how soon FP windows open, but in general, is that how you do it? I'd rather do the shows later in the day b/c I feel like for that 10:30 Nemo we could be doing other things--but I'm not sure how to do both shows otherwise. Thanks!

It sounds good, the only thing I would consider is after you get your FP for EE, head straight over to the Safari and just ride it without getting a FP, all the animals are usually out due to it being breakfast time (have gotten some awesome close up shots of the animals at that time). Are you going at RD? If you weren't planning on it, then I would also suggest doing that, because the line for the Safari after RD will be nil, everyone will be heading over to EE instead. Good luck.

And, you won't be able to get a FP for EE, walk to Safari and get another one. The PP has a good suggestion of riding Safari instead. You may have to decide after that if you want to ride PW or get in line for Nemo, though. With it being Easter week, the line for Safari will probably be at least 20-30 min after your EE ride.

Now if you want to let the FP for a 2nd ride on EE go, you could get the FP for Safari and continue with your original plan. However, the window for another FP (for Kali) may not open while waiting in line for Nemo. You usually have to wait until your FP time for the FP in hand has come or 2 hours from time you got that FP, whichever comes first.

Make sure you have your running shoes on and have lots of water!

We will be there the same time! My quandry is whether to ride EE first and FP it or go to KS first. Maybe I will let the kids decide.

Also keep in mind that EE has a single rider line. We have used that many times to be able to get on EE with very little wait. Something to consider for the 2nd ride maybe. I think your plan looks good. I'd do EE first and send someone to get a FP for Safari. After you ride EE you can head to Dinoland to ride PW which has no FP and gets really long lines. Then you're already in the area to get in line for Nemo. Then once you're FP window opens grab a Kali FP. Looks like a good plan to me. Just make sure you get to AK at opening! Enjoy!

I would also recommend the single rider line for EE unless you really want to ride together. My daughter and I were ale to ride EE 5 times in about 30 minutes by using the single rider line. Most of those we were on the same train as well, just not in the same seats.

I thought PW did have FP? At least it did the last time I was there, and on allears.net it says it has FP.

There are FP machines there. The last few times we've gone I've never seen them in operation and we went in the summer. They did on occasion open up the other side of PW so that there were more coasters in operation. Maybe since the refurbishment they've decided to use FP again for this ride. That would be great as the lines for this were always terrible and we love this ride. Maybe someone that has been more recently can let us know if FP is again being used for this ride but the last couple of summers that we were there FP was not operational.

PW is closed for rehab until the 16th. Guess you'll have to wait until you get there.

I just checked the "Refurb" schedule:

And it looks like it will now be closed until 6-1-11. We didn't really like it all that much so not a huge loss to us. But wanted to let everyone know.

The Primeval Whirl refurbishment has been extended to June 1 so you'll need to change up that part of your plan.

I'll be there with the family the week before Easter when AK opens at 7am for EMH. We have a Tusker ADR at 10:20. I'm also trying to figure out the KS vs. EE plan. I've seen reports here that Safari FP are given out at 7am but the ride might not be open until 8, even though it's a EMH ride. So probably FP Safari and the adults and DD13 ride EE. DD4 will have to be patient while we ride swap EE! I wish there was more open for the little ones that early. Even just having the Boneyard play area open would be great.

Didn't realize the refurbishment of PW had been extended to June 1. Good info! With that, to OP I'd probably go to Safari first now then head over to EE to ride/FP/single rider, maybe ride Dinosaur and then see Nemo. Get Kali FP when your window opens and then do ITTBAB and the trails and whatever FP's you've collected.

I had no idea that PW was in rehab! I'm not a fan, but DD is finally tall enough and she's DYING to go--oh well, next time!

Even though this may be pushing it, I think we will do EE ride and get FP, then go to ride Safari, then over to Dinoland to wait for Nemo--hoping to maybe pick up a Kali FP on the way. We won't do Dinosaur, and the kids still really want to do EE with us--though maybe we'd do single rider for a 3rd time!!

Sequin--We'll be there the same week, but we're deciding not to go to AK on it's EMH--I think that AK will be the only park other than MK with an EMH that day and I was worried about the crowds. We will be there right at RD though.

Thanks again!

We've got Park Hoppers so we'll bail out of AK later in the day if necessary. I'm wondering if they'll open more attractions for the 7am EMH, especially with PW being closed and the expected crowds. I know they occasionally add rides to MK morning EMH during busy times but I don't know if this happens at the other parks.

On a slow day, this might be doable, but during Easter week, I don't think there's any way you could ride both EE and Safari and then get to Nemo in time for the 10:30 show.

However, during Easter week there could be additional Nemo shows (and Lion King shows) added, so be sure to check Steve Soares' website which is updated every Saturday evening:

Oops, just realized the park opens at 8:00 a.m.

So scratch what I said. You can definitely make it to Nemo in time for the 10:30 show.

To avoid backtracking, I think I would ride Safari first, then ride or get Fast Passes for Everest on the way to Nemo.

That's the whole question for me. If we go to EE first ride grab a FP, the line for EE should be very short, BUT we would then do EE go to KS then back track to EE later in the day sometime. Or should I go to KS then EE as to not "backtrack". But will EE not be a walk-on then?

Decisions.

We did the Everest-first, then-Safari order on one trip and regretted it. It was during a busy Spring Break day. We were at Rope Drop, but it still took 15 minutes to get the Everest Fast Passes, and by the time we finished Everest and got to the Safari, it was after 10:00, and the Safari wait was 40 minutes.

So ever since then, we do the Safari first, then get Fast Passes for Everest, and then ride Everest later in the day. This doesn't involve too much backtracking, as Everest is near the other stuff we plan to do in Asia, Dinoland, and Discovery Island. But Africa is a long ways away, so getting Safari Fast Passes and then riding it later involves too much backtracking for us.

We always go in the summer months, but we always do Kali River once in the middle of the day with a FP then at the end of the day as a walk on cause there is hardly any line. Just thinking you may just want to wait to the end of the day for this, the only bad part is getting on the bus soak'n wet, :confused3. Have a good time!
