I've just cancelled Whispering Canyon for Sanaa. The menu appeals to us more.

We will be coming from POR so I am thinking a taxi would be easiest.

After dinner, I would like to go to the AKL and check it out. I've read about night vision goggles to see the animals. How do we get from Sanaa to that area?

Anything else at AKL that is interesting to check out. We'll have ds10 and ds12 with us.

I did have an ADR for Boma, but cancelled that too. Buffets aren't our thing and I got a f!pkg for that night. So this will be our opportunity to check out this resort.

Any suggestions...

Sanaa is one of my favorite restaurants. I eat there at least once every trip.

First, make sure that you make your reservations before sunset. Since you sit right on the savannah, you want to be able to enjoy the animals. When you check in, ask if a window table is available.

Either before or after dinner, walk out to the animal viewing area at Kidani Village. This area extends right out into the savannah, and they have rockers and a fire pit. I actually like this area better than the animal viewing at Jambo House, although both are work checking out.

You can get to Jambo House either by walking, or taking any theme park bus. The buses normally go to Kidani, then Jambo. Check before getting on a bus, but that is the way they normally work.

Sanaa is one of our favorite "1TS" restaurants on property. The food is better there than at some Signatures, IMO. Deffinately start with the bread service (it says a bread service for 2 but can easily be shared by 4). It is only about a 10 minute walk to get from Kidani to Jambo. It's a pretty nice walk and isn't so bad after the meal. You can also take any THEME PARK bus since they stop off at Jambo before heading to the park. DO NOT get on a DTD bus, since they stop off at Jambo before heading to Kidani. There is also a shuttle that runs back and forth between Jambo and Kidani, you can ask Bell service as you are leaving Kidani as to when the next shuttle should be leaving. In the end, we like taking the walk better.

When we were there in October, the area at Jambo with the night vision goggles was out past the pool, then hang a left when you get to the flamingos. The area they use may change so it is best to ask the desk. There are a lot of sites and sounds and smells to experience at AKL, so take your time and explore both buildings.

thanks to you both for the tips!

I originally booked WCC for the kids, then it occurred to me, they hardly eat anything so why go somewhere that I don't want to go! :lmao:

Sanaa looks very pretty and has a much more interesting menu!!!

WCC is nice, but if your kids like animals, I think they will actually enjoy Sanaa better, especially if you have a window table. Even though the food is a little more exotic...they also have a basic hamburger. You just get it without their sauces on.

I'm a pretty picky eater, and I love the Tandori chicken...and the burger.

The Mango smoothies are amazing...and..I don't like mango.
