Help pick our week for next year's trip!!

Which week in May/June 2008?

I want the least amount of crowds.

Originally chose May 24-31 then I read about Memorial Day Weekend having high attendance.

I am afraid that May 31- June 7 will bring more kids out of school.

What do you think?

May 31-June 7, 2008

I would go with the later dates and avoid memorial day weekend. A lot of kids around the country (including mine) don't get out of school until mid-June.

We've been to WDW during both of the times you are talking about. This year's vacation was May 31 through June 9th. Next year's vacation will be May 29th through June 7th.

In all honesty, I didn't see much of a different in the crowd levels during these two times.

Keep in mind that Gay Days will take place the first weekend in June and the crowds will be effected by the extra number of visitors.

It always seems like the Magic Kingdom is more effected that the other parks during holidays and special events such as Memorial Day and Gay Days. We just make sure we avoid the Magic Kingdom on Saturdays no matter what time of year we go.

So, I would vote for either one!

This is good news about the crowd levels. Back in 2005, we went Memorial weekend and in 2007 we went June 4-10, i didn't remember thinking it was a huge difference but wanted some other opinions.

I had the same dilemma. I wondered about May 22--May 30, but like you said there is Memorial Weekend in there. So now I am considering May 26-June 2.

I am leaning toward the latter of the two.....one because maybe the love bugs will have a better chance of being gone, and it wont rush us quite so much after school gets out May 21st. I also heard about the crowds over the holiday weekend, so hoping they will die down after Monday.

I would love to hear more suggestions on which one to go to. I havent totally committed to either one, so you could all persuade my decision.

You know we always travel Sat-Sat, just makes it easier with work, but arriving on that Monday is not a bad idea, either.

I'd pick the latter of the two. Memorial Day can be really hectic. We've done right after Memorial Day (a few days later) and the crowds really died down each day after Memorial Day.

Alot of school districts start summer vacation memorial day weekend. I saw got he week before, just to be safe, crowdwise.

We always go end of May /first week in June! This year we went from 6/1- 6/8 and it was the most packed we've ever seen it. I would definitely go the last week in May. We arrived on Memorial Day 2 years ago at about 4pm and everyone was leaving and the MK wasn't packed at all! Have a great trip whatever you decide!

My family has always gone the first week of June and have never felt like the crowds were too over whelming. We are already booked at the AKL for June 7th - 15th. We are going a little later next year since schools here in Austin, Texas are starting and ending later. No matter when you go just enjoy!

We always go Memorial Day week, crowds die down after the weekend. My son gets out of school on May 23rd, so we'll probably be heading down on the 24th for a week.
