Help - out of the incentives loop!

I have been thinking about buying DVC for a while. I have taken tours at both WDW and DL and really like BLT and GCV. Can anyone tell me what the current incentives are for a new member, with a referral from an existing member? I have seen some posts about incentives changing shortly - not sure if the current incentives are still valid? I got an email about receiving 500 Disney Visa points for buying 160 GCV points but that does not seem like a very good deal (and not sure if it can be combined with other incentives offered directly from Disney). I am going on a cruise in December so I'm thinking that might be a good time to purchsae. Thanks so much. I am getting confused reading all the different posts!

BLT:
$112 base price less $5.00 promotional discount on purchase of 160 pts + an additional $6 off per point w/referral from existing member = Net price of $101 per point.

GCV:
$112 base price less $16.00 promotional discount on purchase of 160 pts + an additional $6 off per point w/referral from existing member = net price of $90 per point.

(This promo is reported to be ending on 8/25/09).

I think it's just to encourage more sales there as the point requirements are much higher per stay.

Agreed.. Less cost per point, but more points per night. It probably comes out about the same price.
Same can be said for annual fees.
