My husband and I are planning on getting our vows renewed at Disney since we never got to have a wedding. This won't be until 2015 but I figured it's never too early to start thinking about it  I know I want to do the escape package with the wedding pavilion as our location and since it will be on a weekend I know we have to meet the $7500 minimum. I also would love an illuminations dessert party! I just don't know where to start. I mean, I can't reserve anything yet can I? I know escape packages can't reserve until 8 months in advance? What if a wishes bride already booked the wedding pavilion? :confused3 I definitely don't plan on upgrading to the wishes package because we won't be inviting that many people and I hope not to reach the $10,000 point. SO any advice would be SUPER helpful! Thanks so much everyone! :thumbsup2

For escape weddings, it's not a "minimum" you have to meet like with the wishes weddings. It's a package deal, with certain options included. Some things can be upgraded but you don't get as many options. No, you can't reserve anything yet. You can do a site visit and pencil your date in at 12 months, but you can't officially sign any paperwork until 8 months. There are multiple time slots for the WP per day (10am, 12pm, 2:30pm, 5pm, and 7:30pm), so as long as you're not dead-set on one certain time of day I think you'd have a good chance of being able to book the Wedding Pavilion. Wishes weddings do get first choice though since they get to book 12 months out, so if it's already booked there's nothing you can do besides choose a different day or different time slot. As far as a dessert party goes, you can book one but keep it mind it's not included in the package for the escape wedding, so it would go beyond the package price. Escape weddings also don't have a reception included, so again if you wanted a reception it would go beyond the package price. It's a lot of numbers and a lot to think about. Good luck! :thumbsup2

You are right that it would trigger the $7500 minimum if you did it on a weekend. Remember weekends are more popular so less chance of getting the WP as well, can you not do a week day?

2015 is still 3 years away so the DFTW packages could have changed completely by then so for now its just a case of keeping an eye on these boards for ideas and updates and then 12 months before start to do a plan for your day based on the then current packages and prices.
