Hi,

Planning a 4 day trip in Feb. Last 2 times I stayed in the Poly. I do not want to spend so much this time. I have been looking into the Contemporary. I know this may sound like a silly question but why is it so much less then the other Deluxe Resorts? I am also thinking about the CSR. I am traveling with my 12 yr old dgtr. The contemporary looks a little boring. My thinking is that since I am going for such a short time it would be easier to stay at the Contemporary because of the monorail.

Any info and suggestions is appreciated.

Thanks.
Karen

if you want cheaper would go with WL or AKL

the wings are cheaper at CR.

the tower is priced close to what the Polyn goes for in that season.

the wings are behind and besides the tower. you might get a view of the lake - but more likely the lagoon between the 2 lakes (not as nice). or you might get view of the walkway, or garden or pool.

the cheapest rooms - don't have a balcony and are on the 2nd floor in the wings.

CSR!! Great main pool area, awesome transportation, and terrific food options. Check out my CSR website below for pics and info. CSR now has queen beds too!!

We just returned from WL and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. In fact, I'm spoiled for life I do believe. They had great games by the pool everyday and we just loved everything about this place :)

CR would be good since it is so close to MK and is on the monorail, but WL would also be good since it has the boat to MK. The rooms at CR do look kind of boring in the pictures, but it has been my experience that the pictures on the various websites do not do the rooms justice. Besides, for four days how bad could it be? :goodvibes

I'll throw in another vote for the WL. I haven't figured out why it's less money than some of the other Deluxe's except for maybe that you have to take the bus more often? WL rocks!

O.k. - probably not fair for me to say since I haven't stayed here yet. . . but CSR!!!!!!!!!!! I am staying there for the first time in Nov & am already in love with it. Check out the website above that Buzz has put together. Also check out the "official CSR" thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1734215. You will get a lot of great info there.

Good luck with your decision!:thumbsup2

We've stayed at the CR a few times but don't think it is worth the extra money despite it being on the monorail. We love the CSR--have stayed seven times and will be there for number eight in 2009.

I would say AKL or WL but CS is not a bad option either. You can always upgrade closer to your trip if its available.

I have to stay I love the WL and its close to the MK if you plan on spending alot of time there.

CSR!! I love CSR for the atmosphere, great CM's and the deluxe-lite feel. CSR offers a spa, salon, full menu room service and fitness center not to mention a terrific main pool area and the best transportation that is not shared with any other resort. It's like taking two vacations in one. Queen beds too!

Location and trasnportation wise the Contemporary would be the best thing because you have the walkway to the Magic Kingdom and when leaving from there it's the 1st stop on the Resort Monorail. Besides that when going and coming back from Hollwood Studios, Animal Kingdom/Blizzard Beach, Downtown Disney/Typhoon Lagoon, the Contemporary is the 1st Resort where you are picked up and dropped off since they share bus service with the Polynesian and sometimes the Grand Floridian. As for Epcot when going there take the Monorail one stop to the TTC and then switch Monorails. When coming back you need to ride the Monorail around to the Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom, however it's better then the buses.

Also the Contemporary rooms were all renovated and look amazing, plus their rooms are amongst the largest on Disney property.
