Help on Where to Eat

We've booked our second family Disney trip for late January and wanted some input on where to eat. We have a 3 1/2 yr old daughter with us. Any feedback would be appreciated (you can tell me the good, bad, ugly)

Ohana - Dinner
Chef Mickey - Breakfast
The Wave of American Flavors - Dinner
Cinderella's Royal Table - Breakfast
Via Napoli - Dinner
Boma - Dinner

I also need some suggestions on Quick Service places at MK, AK, and HS.

Obviously everyone's tastes are different, but these are the ones I'd look at:

MK - Columbia Harbor, Cosmic Rays, Pecos Bills

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons, Kringla Bakeri

AK - Flame Tree, Pizzafari

DS - nothing dazzles me, maybe someone else has some feedback

The only one of those TS I've eaten at is Boma and we found it just okay. A lot of people rave about it though, we just didn't like that style of food I guess (though the desserts were fabulous!)

As for CS, our faves are:

MK - Columbia harbour house - we always go there on our trips. they have good food and great upstairs seating so you don't feel like you're in the middle of a busy theme park

AK- flame tree - great ribs (well for CS anyways) and nice seating on the water

DHS - starring rolls cafe - this is the only CS place we'll eat at DHS - fantastic sandwiches and amazing cupcakes and pastries for dessert

you didn't mention epcot, but my DH's fave at epcot is sunshine seasons. I have too many....always makes eating at epcot difficult. I also love sunshine seasons, fish and chips at UK, the moroccan restaurant and the mexican one (ok, the food in mexico is not great, but I love all mexican food, even crappy versions!)

If you can do Crystal palace do it, our first trip our DS was Just 4 he loved the pooh charecters it was totally worth it to us.

My kids loved Chef Mickeys when we went a few years back (one of my kids was 3 1/2 then). It is noisy but a lot of fun. We also have done CP a few times- food is good, nice to be in MK when eating. We got the first ADR for breakfast and walked through an empty park (nice pics).

Pizzafari is huge so seating is not a problem. Pizza just OK, IMHO. I would like to try Flame Tree BBQ on our next trip.

Also really liked Sunshine Seasons at Epcot (though don't remember specifics)- a lot of variety.

At MK- Cosmic Rays was good. Also like Pecos Bills for counter service.

I would highly recommend 1900 Park Faire for either Breakfast or Dinner.

The character interaction and the food are both outstanding, and it's only a short Monorai ride from MK.

We love Ohana and Chef Mickey!! If you are at Ohana the same time as Wishes, request a table by the window, it's totally worth the extra few minutes wait and the music is piped in to the dining room! Amazing!

For CS, we like:
MK- Pecos Bill- burgers are great and the topping bar is amazing
HS- Backlot Express- great sandwiches
Epcot- Lotus Blossom- if you like Chinese food
AK- Pizzafari- pizza is really good and the dining area is big

Ohana is great for the whole family and is on our must-do list every trip. DD3 will like breakfast at CM and CRT. Boma is also good and the buffet has a big variety; you can try the more Africanized foods but it also has the basic kids' foods too. I can't speak to Via Napoli; DH is not that crazy about Italian food and the menu there does not interest me enough to push him for it.

The Wave strikes me as a more adult experience. If you want to arrange childcare for an evening and have a 'date night', this is the place for your dinner. If not, not worries; they do have a childrens' menu.

QS? Tons of choices. In MK CHH gets high marks for food and for being a little off the beaten path. I personally like the toppings bar for burgers at Pecos Bill's, though. Cosmic Ray is OK; the ribs and chicken options are pretty huge for a QS meal credit. Sit close to the stage on the lower level; DD3 might really like the anamatronic entertainer, Sonny.

In AK, we like Flame Tree. But if BBQ does not appeal to your family Pizzafari is OK too.

In HS, hand-down favorite is Starring Rolls (breakfast or lunch only; this place closes really early). For your adult QS credit you get a lovely overstuffed ham or turkey sandwich on fresh ciabatta bread, plus your choice of a side (big bag of chips or a piece of fresh fruit), plus your beverage, plus your choice of any item from the bakery counter which includes the famous Red Velvet or Butterfinger cupcakes. Another decent option at DHS is to go down the road leading to ToT. One the left hand side are several QS food counters that all share an open-air seating area. Instant food court!

Thanks for all of the great input and suggestions! We went to Disney in January and we had eaten at Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace and Akershus Baquet Hall so we knew what to expect from those. Chef Mickey is defintely a must for our DD3 and we think she's going to go bonkers over breakfast at CRT. However, all the other restaurants will be new to us.

I appreciate all of the CS suggestions! We always had a hard time finding something that looked appealing in relation to where we were in the parks at lunch time. Looking forward to trying CHH, Starring Rolls, Flame Tree, etc.

We always enjoy Rain Forrest Cafe. My son is 21 now and still wants to go there. Rain Forrest is at AK and

Ohana is awesome.

We also enjoyed T-Rex and Tusker House.

For CS we enjoyed Starring Rolls at DHS.

I would also suggest the Sunshine Season food court in the land and Yak & Yeti CS.
