Olympus Corp enjoys a very strong medical sales division, specializing in microscopes, endoscopes and other things. The company began in 1919; it's first Zuiko lens was introduced in 1935 and first camera in 1936. They've been in the camera business ever since. They continue to offer some strong innovations, many of which others initially scoffed at, then copied. I mean, nothing would really surprise me in this economy today, but I really don't see them going under any time soon.
