I am only 30 and I had a failed knee surgery last month and now I can not walk with out a cane. (before surgery, walking all day at disney was slightly uncomfortable and now if I walk for more than 10 minutes at a time I need a cane). The longest I have been around on the cane is a few hours, I am worried about doing all day at disney. We are going in January for two weeks. I thought about renting a sccoter for the whole time, but how difficult is it to get from the resorts and such.

Second question, I have the handicap parking hanger for the cars that I ride in, it was issued to me and expires in 6 months. this is in the state of MN and would this be valid for me in Florida or would I have to apply down there.

I am so angry because the Dr. encourged the surgery and it is worse now than before and now in Feb. I have to go in for more surgery. He wanted to go back in Dec. but I don't want my trip totally ruined.

Any advice would be welcomed!!

Sorry to hear about the bad surgery.
It is not at all difficult to get around on the buses with an ECV. Rent one for offsite and go for it.
Hang tag from your state is valid so be sure to bring it.

I'm also sorry to hear about your unfortunate surgery.

I totally agree with Lisa about the scooter. Almost all the buses are equipped with lifts to accomidate scooters. The monorails are accessible and most of the boats (the ones at the Epcot resorts are; the ones at the MK resorts sometimes have a problem because of the water level being too high or too low (because of too much or too little rain). Get a scooter from off-site and go for it. Here are the places DIS posters have reported renting from:
