The first time we went, we had no idea what to expect and we bought a 3 day pass from Virgin and it was enough as we wanted to see everything else like Seaworld, Knotts Berry Farm, Universal and Hollywood, but we found we spent the whole holiday on a coach being driven up and down the freeway.
Last year we went for 28 days and in this time we travelled to Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Las Vegas (5 day trip not seperate day trips), we did lots of shopping, went to Universal and Knotts,Huntigton Beach, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica and we still had things to see that we didnt have time to do.
This year we are going for 18 days but taking a few days out to do Grand Canyon and Vegas again and we will go to Universal and Knotts and lots of shopping and maybe a beach.
Our first time we bought the 3 day pass from Virgin and it was just as cheap to buy a deluxe annual pass in 2004 and we could go to the park whenever we wanted, mostly we went in the evenings. This year we might get the deluxe AP again as they are not that expensive in comparison to a 5 or 6 day ticket and it means we dont have to spend the whole day there or else we have wasted a day.
Last year we went to Orlando and didn't like it as we found the transport was not very good compared to Anaheim and we just spent too much time travelling on the buses and when we booked, we were not told that it was the rainy season and we had rain every single day!!! We also got caught in Hurricane Dennis when we went to Clearwater for the day.We won't go back there again, though have to say that we did enjoy Discovery Cove, that was the highlight of our holiday.
