Firstly Thunder Mountain, Kimbee wants to do this but I think it looks like a roller coaster, just how scary is it?

Also POTC - went on this at Anaheim and the smell of the 'mist' made me feel  - anyone know how it compares?

Please can anyone give me a list of fast rides which aren't too scary or that make your stomach go really badly... Preferbly not Rollercoasters but daughter doesn't mind these so much ;) ;)

I'm the scaredy cat here :scared:

My DD7 loved BTM. Everyone loves POTC and Phantom Manor.
Star Wars is a simulator which some find makes them

We are not coaster fans although I've tried SM2, and Indy. DP and I will be keen for the other to volunteer when the troops want to go on these

I suppose Thunder Mountain is classed as a roller coaster, but it's quite a tame one - and it's great fun!! You really should give it a go at least once.

I don't remember any mist smell in our POTC - so they either don't do it, or it doesn't bother me. Great help, aren't I!?! :teeth:

Rides that go fast, but aren't scary or sicky? None spring to mind apart from BTM, but I'll have a think about it :scratchin

Cassey Junior, thats a fun ride its sort of fast ( :rotfl2: )

My Mum loves this ride but the one time she went on BTM she was scared & screaming and had her eyes shut the whole time :rotfl:

I am a real wimp and the first time I went on BTM I was like Chrismoo's mum and kept my eyes tightly shut! :lmao: However, I soon realised that there was nothing to be afraid of and I just love riding it now! :thumbsup2

I haven't noticed any sort of smell in POTC either, mind you I am probably too busy calling Bon Appetit to the diners and singing Yo Ho! :woohoo:

I know Star Tours makes some people feel  but I love it because it has the all feeling of being on a coaster but I feel safe "knowing" my feet are firmly clamped to the ground, if you know what I mean! :rotfl2:

How old is your daughter,I reckon she will really enjoy Thunder Mountain. This is perhaps the best attraction in the park, its fast but by no means violent or scary & it is well worth riding. The queue area is well designed & the theming is superb.

WRT Pirates mist smell again I havent noticed this when I did this ride ?

To me Star Tours is the attraction most likely to give you an upset stomach though if you dont eat anything diectly before riding you should be ok,

Space Mountain Mission 2 ( dark indoor coaster ) & Indiana Jones are the major thrill rides in Parc Disneyland. Both are very well designed attractions & have great theming,I havent been on Mission 2 yet but De La Terre a La Lune was simply out of this world for me !! - definitely the best coaster ever I think.Indiana is very good but maybe a bit too bumpy for your daughter.

R & R Coaster in the Studios is the fastest coaster but smoother then the other 2.All in all she will be fine for Thunder Mountain,& this is the one you cant miss.Hope this helps !!

Have a great visit.

:smooth: :wizard:

Thanks everyone, you have reassured me enough to give TM a try, my daughter is 13 BTW but I'm the wimp here, she laughs at me :guilty:

We'll also give POTC a try and I will let you all know if the smell is the same :teeth:

Unlike mum, I am not scared at all when it comes to rides... Alough im not keen when my stomach goes.

I wanted to try POTC pirate: and BTM for ages, but mums too scared, heh, I bet I won't even get her on "Alices Curious Laberinth" or whatever ;)

Im so exited... TOMORROW :D :cool1:

And, I'll proberly post up our ratings, Mum will still be starstruck once she see's Chicken Little ;)

So long as I'm not dragged onto Dumbo :dumbo:, that goes up and down and looks really scary :scared1:

j/k - we're going to have a fantastic time, did you have to mention Chicken Little again Kimbee? :faint: I just can't wait to meet him :lovestruc

The BBC web site says sunny, everywhere else reports rain/showers - guess we'll just have to wait and see when we get there

My mum was actually scared on Dumbo and made me keep him low on the ground and it was quite embaraasing when she was screaming!

I think BTM would be great for you Kimbee and Star Tours too. Indy is a bit rocky as earlier mentioned but still good, don't eat before it! Rock and Roller coaster is a fantastic ride too but your Mum might not think so. Don't miss Phantom Manor, we love it, we haven't done the new Space Mountain but the old one was great and this one is supposed to be better! Also in Disney Studios you can create and rideyour own virtual Roller Coaster, real good fun!

 Have a great time!

If your worried about your tummy, you could always do what I did last time and take a travelling tablet beforehand, it definately helps.
I'm fine on BTM, I could ride that all day but the Teacups, once is definately enough, in fact I've fallen out with my 6 year old over them because he was spinning it too fast :stir: and I refused to go back on with him
I'm not fussed on the carousel but it's the up and down movement of the horses that sets me off I'm OK in the coach- Star Tours I have to keep my eyes on the floor :sad2:
I should know better really I've only been on a pedalo once and I was seasick :rolleyes1

On a hot summers day Star Tours can make me feel queezy.

I'm not sure but I don't think the actual "star speeder" is air conditioned the building is but I think the ride is enclosed. On a hot day it gets way too hot.

This is the only ride I think twice about before riding.

The DLP-version of POTC doesn't have the mist of the one at DL, and thus you don't have that horrible mist smell!

Also sucking a mint while you're on the ride is suppose to be quite good.

I was terrified on Orbitron and was actually in tears! Just about to carry on with my trip report which will include this horrid moment!!

DF and I found that Dumbo made us both feel really quite ill, with all the going up and down without much restraint! We love the coasters (RnRC being our fave) but we wont be doing Dumbo again for a while LOL!

Thanks for that, Kimbee will be delighted to hear that I am now happy to give it a try! :thumbsup2

That's interesting, DH went on this at DL Cali and he would be the first to feel sick I reckon, he was screaming to get off the Bobsleigh Toboggans at Cali! :rotfl2:

I guess it varies, teacups don't bother me yet someone here said they were affected by them.
