hello,
So we have our dates set and hotel booked( RPR -5 nights/ AKL 11 night)
We are travelling with a 3 and 8 year old so pace will be fairly slow and want to build it rest days and time at pool. We will also transfer hotel so that's a day gone from parks.
We are traveling in October so hopefully not too busy at parks?!
I was initially planning to spend 4 days at universal between the 2 parks and hotel and then 10 days at disney( parks, rest day, water parks).
My son has become dolphin mad so considering a day at dc but struggling to know where to take a day from( universal or Disney element)?

I figured that AKL and Disney studio would need a day and then Epcot and MK would be a day and a half, WP x2, rest day ( after 2 full days) and a day to redo favourites. This covers all the Disney days.

Do you think doing both universal parks is doable in 3 at a slow pace( and covering all of Harry Potter) is manageable? We are staying on site so have the fast pass keys but this doesn't work for HP. We will be in the park first thing but the and little one are likely to head made to pools at 2 ish.

Should I leave discovery cover? Or could send husband and son on day we transfer hotel but then daughter and I wouldn't get to see them do dolphin swim( don't think 3 year old will get much out of it?)

Don't won't the holiday to be totally structure and planned......

Any view / experience would help

Ruth

I don't think a hotel transfer necessarily involves a break from the parks. I would certainly be looking at doing an early morning start that day, and perhaps visiting a park later in the afternoon/evening once you have checked in to the new hotel.

October is moderate - shouldn't be crazy busy except at Hallowe'en. You might want to consider tickets for MNSSHP if you're around near Hallowe'en.

If you are staying onsite at RPR, you don't need 5 nights. 3 would be plenty. With the Express Passes, you'll only need a day for each park, plus possibly an extra day to "mop up" anything missed and revisit your favourite attractions.

Remember that the first few days you will be tired after the travel - don't forget to build in some rest time then.

We don't take rest DAYS - an afternoon or morning suffices.

Discovery Cove is brilliant - unrushed, relaxed and a really enjoyable day. There is lots of your three year old to do (though most little ones seem to love the artificial beach as much as anything else there!).

I am going with a 3 yo and a 7 yo next year and I do not expect it to be fairly slow haha. Although I would love for it to be slow!

We have always managed to do the universal parks in 2 days with a 3 yo in the past.

The first few days be prepared to be awake VERY early :guilty:.

I'm worried about our next trip as we haven't been for a few years and never had to book fp+ and adr before we go. It concerns me that it's going to be very regimented :faint:

Thank you both. Feel much more confident about spending 3 days at universal now and then using a day for dc.
This board is great!! Ruth
