We are going to WDW the week before Thanksgiving. We have Hoop-De-Doo reservations made but no other reservations made for nice dinners as we don't have a plan for every day. Since that is not too busy of a time of year, do you think we could call the morning of a day for reservations that night for someplace like Boma? Tony's? Teppanyaki?

Any and all suggestions GREATLY appreciated!

We''ll be there then too and I have my usual bunch of PSs. I think you might be OK if you're not picky about the time of your PSs and if you won't be too disappointed if you don't get in. However I always think better safe than sorry...I can always cancel a PS if our plans change.

Have a great trip!

i agree w/BCV23. i would rather have them and not need them than need them and can't get them. you can always cancel!

Help a newby out here.

Am I correct in saying that PS doesn't guarntee you a table it just means you will be next seated at that roughly booked time?

It's not a firm reservation is it? like when you book at a resturant to go for dinner.

Also are the resturants in the actually disney parks or the surround? I am clueless.

We are going the 13-19 Nov

You are correct. A PS doesn't guarantee a table at the time given, just that you will be next.

It is not a firm reservation & some people don't even bother to cancel them if plans change. However, they really appreciate it if you do call & say you're not coming! Besides, it's polite. ;)

There are places to eat inside each of the parks (table service, counter service & carts). There is also a McD's inside WDW that is not in a park...I don't know about any others. Each of the resorts has several places to eat as well.

Your trip is coming up soon! How exciting! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Do you have any other questions?

we are going at an even ( hopefully )slower time (Jan ) and for Ohana's ,while they had open seatings, I could not get the first seating I requested. this was at noon on the first day of the 90 day period so I would make any you really want to go to just in case, especially the more popular ones. (like Boma ) course there is always the possiblity that only obsessives like me had already called in and we all happend to want the same time!:hyper:::yes::

Yes I have more questions :D

Where excatly is the contempoary in regards to WDW and How easy is it to find/get to.

I only plan on doing one character dinner and I have chosen Chef Mickey's.

Should i know any thing before i go?

Thanks for your help

kirstyfly-

Should I ask where you're staying? Also- do you plan on going to the Magic Kingdom that day? The Contemporary Resort is close enough to the MK to walk to.

Have you made a Priority Seating for Chef Mickey's?? It's really popular, and can be booked up (for the more popular times) very quickly.

Give me more information, and I'll do my best to help!!

Hi

I have no idea where we are staying but it is off site. We are lucky to be satying with friends of ours while over in the USA who live in NJ and a work mate of theirs has loaned us the use of his florida holiday home. ( our friends stayed there last time they went to WDW and he as offered it to them and us for our stay.

This will be there second trip and our first to WDW.

Can you email for PS or do you have to ring?

For PS you have to call disney dining. I don't think anything disney is emailable.

You may have trouble getting into Chef Mickey's this close to your trip, but it's worth a try. If they tell you it's booked when you call, you can try again once you get there....but you should probably consider an alternate location just in case.

If you are going directly from MK to the Contemporary (or the other way around) consider taking the Monorail. It's great fun - especially for your first trip. You can also ask the CM before you board if it's possible to ride up front (where the driver is.) If you get that opportunity make sure you remember to pull out your camera! :D

To get an idea of where things are, you should go to Disney's site and click on the "View Map" link. From the pop-up window, choose "Other Maps" & "Disney Resorts". That should call up a map of the whole property with numbers for each of the resorts.

Kapp, are you going the week that includes Thanksgiving. If so I misunderstood you. If that is the case I would make PSs for sure.

If you're going the week of 15-22 or so, I don't think you have as much to worry about. Still, if it were me....I'd make them. Oh, that's right...I did!

or if it isn't busy hop on the monorail very fun to pull in to the building!

We are going November 16-23. We want to keep our schedule open as possible so may wait until the day of or the day before to make reservations. And if we can't get them, we just go someplace else! Really, the only place we want would be Boma.

Thanks for your advice!

I've had great success by just dining at off peak hours. We've only ever been turned away from a restaurant once in many, many visits, and that was on a very busy night, when we tried to get in after 8:00 at a sit down place with no PS. We went further around World Showcase and found a place we were able to eat without trouble, it just was not the first place we walked up to.

If you don't have a PS and want to visit a popular place such as Chef Mickey's or 'Ohana, I suggest getting there about 15 minutes before they open for dinner and get a place in line, we were seated within 15 minutes of opening in each place with no PS.
